Suit after suit has been filed against them; ACORN has been exonerated again and again. Eventually, the heat travels to Karl Rove, and leads to the US Attorneys firing scandal (when US Attorney David Iglesias refuses to prosecute on insufficient evidence, he is fired). Simple answer: Republican bigwigs are struggling to keep the voters that ACORN registers out of the voting booth. Numbers of mis-registered voters are miniscule.

Clip Source: open.salon.com

In all of those states, Republicans filed suits against ACORN for voter fraud, and, in every case, ACORN was exonerated.

ACORN came under White House fire after registering more than 1.6 million voters

mostly poor and minority people who tend to vote Democratic, and mostly in swing states

The GOP voter-fraud vendetta might have remained

below the radar of the press—had it not been for the scandal surrounding the firing of eight U. Scheunemann's record, they argue, encapsulates everything wrong with the past eight years of Bush leadership on intelligence issues, from a penchant for foreign policy freelancing and secret contacts with unreliable fabricators, to neoconservatives' disdain for the perceived bureaucratic timidity of the CIA and State Department, to their avowed hostility for diplomacy with adversaries. If McCain wins, "the military has won," says one former senior CIA officer. "We will no longer have a civilian intelligence arm. Yes, we will have analysts. We've all known that Rightdiculous columnists and their nastier Right-Wing talk radio hacks have been doing this rhetoric for years. And that their ditto heads have been soaking it up, in the comfort of their living rooms, where they shout obscenities and hateful oratory, alone or among their kind. Now McCain’s, VP choice allows them a place IN PUBLIC to caterwaul their Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter induced RAGE. It must be a catharses for the pathetic souls who have been listening and reading the unadulterated animosity coming over air waves or in print, directed at some unknown enemy. They now can UNLEASH the bottled up hatred, in the open and have a recognizable foe, thanks to the self-proclaimed pit-bull. The wingnut goons behind desks or microphones must be MIGHTY PROUD! “HURRAY FOR SARAH PALIN!” they shout. She’s harvesting the grotesque seeds of hatred, we’ve fervently sewn! Hopefully those of your who believe this are preparing yourself for the coming crisis, by putting your money in low-yield, low-risk investments, stocking up on canned food and ammo, and drinking heavily. But there aren’t just practical preparations to be made; you’ve got to get ready aesthetically, too, to understand the common visual language of total social and economic collapse. href="http://clipmarks.com/clipper/AtlLiberal/">AtlLiberal
clipper's remarks: The comment by the woman who claimed that Obama was an Arab was the clinching justification that a large segment of the McCain supporters are deluded, gullible, and ignorant. It concerned me that people could be so easily manipulated into believing such fantastic claims. In some ways it reminded me of the frenzy I was told about in 1930's Germany against the already hated Jews and Gypsies.
