Some sick minds some dozens years ago declared new era in our move in the road of progress and we relentlessly followed their mad ideas not even realizing how harmful they are. Only with genuine freedom of information in Internet the true appeared at its full extend and some of us horrified what was already done. We have to admit now that so called "chemical revolution" in fact was chimera, which directed us to our present dead end.

primary source for identifying these chemicals was not research papers. Instead, 60 percent were from major patent offices worldwide. And the next significant category was chemicals already available in chemical catalogs!

In other words, these chemicals are already out of the box and out there.

Our regulatory system works according to a kind of "guilty until proven innocent" logic, where new chemicals are available and safe, until the day we realize they aren't.

Million to one apple is half red, half green

Fruit grower Ken Morrish was left stunned when he found a golden delicious apple on his tree split exactly half green, half red down the middle.

The apple has caused such a stir in the village of Colaton Raleigh, Devon, that Mr Morrish is inundated with neighbours queuing up to take pictures of it.

Mr Morrish, 72, who has been harvesting the apples from trees in his garden for 45 years, said: "It's truly amazing.

Jim Arbury, fruit superintendent at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, said it was probably the "result of a random genetic mutation".

"This is known as a chimera where one of the first two cells has developed differently giving rise to one half of the apple being different," he said.

But while in the mother's womb, two fertilized eggs fuse, becoming one fetus that carries two distinct genetic codes -- two separate strands of DNA.

The twin is invisible, but for chimeras the twin lives microscopically inside the body as DNA.

Fairchild's fight for her kids began when she was 26-years-old, unemployed and applying for public assistance in Washington state. Everyone in her family had to be tested to prove they were all related.

The Department of Social Services called Fairchild and told her to come in immediately.

"As I sat down, they came up and shut the door, and they just went back and just started drilling me with questions like, 'Who are you?'"

The DNA test results challenged everything she knew about her family. Yes, her boyfriend was the father of the children, and, yes, they were all related, according to the DNA, except for Fairchild. She was told she wasn't the mother.

She knew they were her kids.

She told her parents, who couldn't believe the test results.

Animal husbandry now more closely resembles the petrochemical industry than the happy family farm.

The Mexican swine flu, a genetic chimera probably conceived in the faecal mire of an industrial pigsty, suddenly threatens to give the whole world a fever. The initial outbreaks across North America reveal an infection already travelling at higher velocity than did the last official pandemic strain, the 1968 Hong Kong flu.

Stealing the limelight from our officially appointed assassin, H5N1, this porcine virus is a threat of unknown magnitude. It seems less lethal than Sars in 2003, but as an influenza it may be more durable than Sars. Given that domesticated seasonal type-A influenzas kill as many one million people a year, even a modest increment of virulence, especially if combined with high incidence, could produce carnage equivalent to a major war.

Why It's Called "Swine Flu"
By now, you've probably heard about the fact that this particular strain is basically a genetic tossed salad of pig, bird and human flu virus. So why is the pig part getting all the "glory"? According to Andrew Pekosz, over at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, it's because the two genes most important to determining whether humans are immune and what level of protection they have (that'd be the "H" and the "N" in H1N1, by the way) happen to be ones that came from porcine flu strains. We call this chimera "Swine Flu" because that's where it got the genes that really matter most to our health.
On a related note, the AP is reporting that an Israeli Deputy Health Minister is vehemently opposed to the name, because he finds the pig reference religiously offensive. Yeah,I dunno, either.

Practitioners of the "intelligent design" brand of creationism, much like Molière’s Physician in Spite of Himself, not only belie the true nature of their avocation and motives, but also play fast and loose with a commonly held precept. They tacitly negate the clear and completely traditional parameters that illuminate the position of chance occurrence in our universe.

As a consequence, creationism's familiar yet totally unscriptural chimera of "accidental evolution" now lives on as the centerpiece and all-around bogeyman of intelligent design. The results of this legacy could not be sharper. Chance occurrence (randomness), whether guided or not, can be incremental, hence fully evolutionary. Design is all at once or not at all, with only minor variability possible. Perhaps it's time for advocates of this limiting position to go back to square one.

Energy: With the economy slowing, gasoline is lower at the pump and many are relieved. But the U.S. is still as dependent as ever on imported oil, and remains vulnerable to disruption. This is no time to get complacent.

It remains an issue, though, and the Democratic side of the ticket talks of coal as "dirty energy" and calls for bankrupting the industry or shipping it to China. Easy to say when energy is cheap and abundant. But what hasn't disappeared is America's continuing dependence on imported oil.

But imports are still rising and in light of the instability of these suppliers, there ought to be a renewed focus on developing more domestic resources. Energy self-sufficiency is the best antidote to petrotyrannies and all the damage they do, not just to their buyers but themselves.

The issue is just as important as it was this summer. We shouldn't let the chimera of lower energy prices fool us into thinking the problem is over.
