In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.

20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get it’s hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)

40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dialate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness.

45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.

>60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.

>60 Minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.

>60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.

You may be surprised to know that some scientists don't think so.

As a matter of fact, one scientist came up with a new theory about intelligence more than twenty years ago. Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard University proposed that people were much more complex than standard testing suggested. He argued that traditional intelligence tests favored logical and mathematical people, but that different people had different strengths.

Linguistic and Verbal Intelligence

Logical and Mathematical Intelligence

Spatial Intelligence

Body and Movement Intelligence

Musical Intelligence

Interpersonal Intelligence

Intrapersonal Intelligence

Naturalist Intelligence

Tags: linguistic, verbal, words, logical, intelligence, math, spatial, picturs, body, movement, rhytm, interpersonal, communication, intrapersonal, analyzing things, naturalist, natural, world

<clipSource>http://homeworktips.about.com/od/learningstyles/ss/multiple.htm</clipSource>

What Happens to Your body if you stop smoking Right now?

clipped by: Well, here’s a little timeline about some of the more immediate effects of quitting smoking and how that will affect your body RIGHT NOW.

In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.

In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.

In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.

In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.

In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.

In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%.

In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.

In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.

In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

So, you have more immediate things to look forward to if you quit now besides just freaking out about not being able to smoke.

Tags: smoking, cancer, quit smoking, health

<clipSource>http://healthbolt.net/2006/07/19/what-happens-to-your-body-if-you-stop-smoking-right-now/</clipSource>

6 Key Social Skills

clipped by: firebird
clipper's remarks: Obvious? Perhaps not - judging by how people often respond in social situations - where 'me' is the most important subject

Clip Source: www.self-confidence.co.uk

6 Key Social Skills

Social skills are arguably the most important set of abilities a person
can have. Human beings are social animals and a lack of good social
skills can lead to a lonely life, contributing to anxiety and depression.
Great social skills help you meet interesting people, get that job you
want, progress further in your career and relationships.

Happily, like any skill, social strategies and techniques can be learned…

The main social skills are as follows:

          1) The ability to remain relaxed, or at a tolerable level of
          anxiety while in social situations

Regardless of how skillful you are in social situations, if you are
too anxious, your brain is functioning in way unsuited to speaking and
listening. In addition, if your body and face give the unconscious message
that you are nervous, it will be more difficult to build rapport with
          others.

2) Listening skills, including letting others know you are listening

3) Empathy with and interest in others' situations

A major part of social anxiety is self
consciousness, which is greatly alleviated by focusing strongly
on someone else. A fascination (even if forced at first) with another's
conversation not only increases your comfort levels, it makes them feel
          interesting.

          4) The ability to build rapport, whether natural or learned

Rapport is a state of understanding or connection that occurs in a good
social interaction. It says basically "I am like you, we understand
each other". Rapport occurs on an unconscious level, and when
it happens, the language, speech patterns, body movement and posture
and other aspects of communication can synchronise down to incredibly
          fine levels.

Rapport is an unconscious process, but it can be encouraged by conscious
          efforts.

          5) Knowing how, when and how much to talk about yourself - 'self
          disclosure'

          6) Appropriate eye contact

Tags: social skills, psychology, self-development

<clipSource>http://www.self-confidence.co.uk/social_skills.html</clipSource>

Fifty Mistakes Men Make When Having Sex

clipped by: Scattered_Fusion
clipper's remarks: Well here's 5. While you might get to feel the goods, you're not going to be invited back.

2 Not knowing how to kiss sensitively

Passionate or sensitive, firm or gentle, good kissing is an art form which lubricates the wheels of sex and gets everyone in the mood for more intimacy. Learn how to kiss, and do it well. That doesn't mean sticking your tongue in her mouth and wiggling it around like you're trying to floss her teeth.

3 Being too rough when you touch her erogenous zones

Men like a firmer touch than women, especially when it comes to our penises. So if you touch her clitoris with as much force as you apply to your penis when you masturbate, she's most likely to howl with pain - and then kick you out of bed. Remember: the clitoris has twice as many nerve endings as the penis, in a much smaller area. Treat it with respect. It's the only organ in the human body that has no function other than to provide pleasure.

4 Not stroking and caressing her

A woman's second biggest sex organ is her skin. (The first is her mind.) You can make your touch on any part of her body into a sexy caress, but you have to focus on what you're doing and put some sexual energy into your fingers while you caress her. That means not thinking about the baseball game while you're giving her a sensuous massage.

5 Locking onto her nipples like a suckling child

Yes, we know it's fun for you. To her it just feels like she's got a teething infant hanging off her breast. Lick and kiss around her whole breast before you go for the nipple, then flick your tongue gently across the nipple and around the areolae. If she likes what you're doing, you'll know by her moans of pleasure.

Tags: sex, mistakes, men, woman, entertainment, education, true

<clipSource>http://www.eioba.com/a2849/fifty_mistakes_men_make_when_having_sex</clipSource>

What Happens to Your body if you stop smoking Right now?

clipped by: y0han

Clip Source: healthbolt.net

                  1. Scientific tests find that when women make love, they
produce double amounts of the hormone estrogen, which make
                  hair shiny and skin smooth.

                  3. Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled on during
                  that romantic dinner.

                  4. Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It
stretches and tones up just about every muscles in the body.
It's more enjoyable than swimming 20 laps and you don't need
                  special sneakers!

                  5. Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases the
body endorphin into the bloodstream, producing a sense of
euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.

                  6. The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The
sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals
called pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the
                  opposite sex crazy!

Tags: health;

<clipSource>http://www.despardes.com/courtyard/articles/sex.asp</clipSource>

Why Bread and Water Is Bad For You

clipped by: abramsv
clipper's remarks: something that I definitely did not suspect... Bread has been proven to absorb water. Since the human body is more than 90 percent water, it follows that eating bread could lead to your body being taken over by this absorptive food product, turning you into a soggy, gooey bread-pudding person.

  10. The human mind receives in sexual stimuli from the body, processes it, and based on past learning and experience causes the body to respond to it.

Like a male orgasm, a female orgasm is usually accompanied with a very physical reaction, such as hot flushes, uncontrollable spasms and aftershocks which are spasms after sexual pleasure.

When an orgasm has been achieved through sex, you can measure theta waves. These are also said to cause the "running high" feeling of euphoria experienced sometimes by marathon runners. If theta waves are taken as a criterion, the entire brain emits theta waves when women reach an orgasm that is 10 times stronger than when men climax.

So, if theta waves are an indication of an orgasm's strength, then women experience an orgasm that is physically impossible for men to go through. Putting it a little crudely, if the intensity of a woman's orgasm was played through a man's brain, there's a danger that the shock to his system would kill him. That risk makes it impossible to experiment on a man at the moment. And men can never become women. But, it can be used the experience of people who have undergone a sex change (either a woman born with a man's brain or vice versa) to explain the pleasure women feel.

There is a very strong correlation between nerve transmitters called dopamine and pleasure. Arousal causes the pulse to rise, turns the face red and makes the eyes misty because of the effects of dopamine. There also appears to be a link between this and a woman's tendency to become prettier when she falls in love. If it becomes possible to measure dopamine, it may also become possible to measure a woman's pleasure.

Tags: orgasm, sex, women, woman, teens, romance

<clipSource>http://notelay.com/articles/did_you_know/female_orgasm_deadly_for_men/</clipSource>
