In what might be the most ridiculous fooforaw (or argle bargle) since Marge Simpson brought Michelangelo's David to Springfield, an award-winning Texas art teacher has lost her job after a fifth grade field trip to the Dallas Museum of Art ended with parental complaints that kids had seen a nude sculpture. Sydney Mcgee, who has taught art for 28 years, was first reprimanded, and then relieved of her duties at Fisher Elementary School, Friday, after the school board voted not to renew her contract. Given this precedent, maybe local science teachers should avoid taking students to the zoo just in case the animals are... you know?

Confess: we all dream of becoming seduction experts. We dream of being able to deal with any situation and conquer even the most impregnable fortress. Is there any strategy? Is it an art that can be learned? Is it a result that can be attained by following precise rules and scientific calculations? Or is it simply an innate talent?

It is useless to deny that the physical aspect has its importance: Who, for example does not turn around to catch a glimpse at some gorgeous long legs? Or who has not been fascinated by a sultry look? If we don’t have a perfect physique, we can always resort to fashion and take care of our image: well-chosen clothes and the correct style will help us in the art of seduction. The famous Coco Chanel used to say: “If you dress evil, they will look at only your clothes, if you dress well, they will see the woman “.

Aspen artist Hunt Rettig used paperboard, plastic, wood, metal and silicone to create a three-dimensional sculpture, which he then covered with a translucent film to make it look like a two-dimensional photo!

Female art - the new collection at the Pompidou Centre in Paris

For the first time an exclusive women’s art collection is being shown in the Pompidou Centre in Paris. This is a presentation dedicated to female artists from the twentieth century up to the present day. The exhibition began on 18th September and it will end in May 2010. The Pompidou Centre thus brings together the most important female collections of modern and contemporary art in Europe.

The institution, which has been able to organize this first European exhibition of modern and contemporary art, has established a unique commitment with female artists of different nationalities and disciplines, making this high cultural level event possible. Thanks to this exhibition the world has the opportunity to discover these incredible women, their way of life and especially their art.

The West Fjords are a series of peninsulas in northwestern Iceland. They represent less than one-eighth the country’s land area, but their jagged perimeter accounts for more than half of Iceland’s total coastline.

For four seasons running, the city's greatest art crawl has been the New York subway system, courtesy of an anonymous razor-witted and -wielding graffito who calls himself Poster Boy. His flair for remixing subway advertisements into strident polemics on late capitalism has drawn an enthusiastic following.

"Matisse of subway-ad mash-ups," as New York magazine approvingly dubbed him

Poster Boy's mystique has come largely from his anonymity

Perhaps best of all, his work is preciously transient: Transit Authority staff often paper over it within days, if not hours.

Poster Boy's creative underclass credentials are impeccable

"No matter what I do to the piece," he told New York magazine, "as long as I did something to those advertisements and that saturation, it’s political. It’s anti-media, anti–established art world.”

There were a cool art exhibition in Russian city Nijni Novgorod and masters showed their creative charming daggers and swords. There were around 70 pieces and most of them were manufactured using only old techniques. Some of them are inspired by the works of the talented painters of the city. Here are some great photos.
