Triceps 30 Degree Kickbacks – good or bad?

I’ve got a favor to ask. Can you review this variation I came up with for the traditional “triceps kickbacks” and weigh in with your opinion?

See, I love this exercise as a “finishing” extra at the end of a workout. (There’s no way this should replace The Big 7 or anything!)

The “Triceps 30 Kickbacks” are done with both arms at the same time, where your upper arm is not parallel to the floor like the regular 1-arm triceps kickbacks. Instead, you drop your elbow about 30 degrees. You start with the dumbbells curled, wrist up, with the weights close to your armpits. You should be standing with knees slightly bent, leaning forward about 30 degrees, and back in a natural arch. Start by slowly lowering and twisting the dumbbell as you extend the triceps so that the extended position is also palm up behind you. Then slowly return and curl the dumbbell.

Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and seven other American banks banks paid more than $32.6 billion in bonuses in 2008 while receiving $175 billion in taxpayer funds, according to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

Crippled Wall Street giant and major City employer Merrill Lynch led the way by paying 14 of its bankers more than $10 million (£6 million) last year despite racking up losses of nearly $28 billion.

Some 53 high-flyers at Merrill trousered more than $5 million as it paid a total of $3.6 billion in bonuses to its 59,000 staff worldwide, including thousands in London.

The lavish payments, mirrored at banks across Wall Street and the City, came after Merrill lost $27.6 billion last year and was forced into the hands of Bank of America in an emergency takeover to save it from collapse.

University of Dusseldorf researchers have found that when people are fearful or anxious their bodies release a chemical that others respond to - at least, subconsciously.

Volunteers were hooked up to brain scanners. They were then asked to sniff cotton pads taken straight from the armpits of a group of students. Pads were taken just before the students were about to take an important exam, and then again while they worked out on exercise bikes.

Based on smell, the sniffers could not tell the difference between the pre-exam “panic” sweat and the sweat that had been generated during exercise. But the brain scans showed that when they sniffed the pre-exam sweat, it stimulated a part of the brain that triggers empathy - essentially making the anxiety contagious.

The researchers believe this automatic sensory reaction may have evolved in humans to speed up the spread of fear within a group that’s in some sort of danger. As a result, it would jumpstart a flight to safety.

Dr. Tom Anderson's daughter, Lily, and, wife, Cindi, in Camden, Indiana. Dr. Anderson treated an epidemic of MRSA infections before he died.

The late Tom Anderson, the family doctor in this little farm town in northwestern Indiana, at first was puzzled, then frightened.

He began seeing strange rashes on his patients, starting more than a year ago. They began as innocuous bumps — “pimples from hell,” he called them — and quickly became lesions as big as saucers, fiery red and agonizing to touch.

They could be anywhere, but were most common on the face, armpits, knees and buttocks. Dr. Anderson took cultures and sent them off to a lab, which reported that they were MRSA, or staph infections that are resistant to antibiotics.

MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) sometimes arouses terrifying headlines as a “superbug” or “flesh-eating bacteria.”
