It uses magnetic resonance signals to track the movement of water molecules in the brain: water diffuses along the length of neural wires, called axons. The concept of shaping living trees into useful objects -- known as tree shaping, arborsculpture, living art or pooktre –– isn't new. But scientists are now ready to use this concept as the foundation of a new company that will roll out these structures worldwide.

     location measurement system. The calibration technique is based upon a
     regression function that produces adequately accurate location
     information as a function of signal strength regardless of gaps in the
     calibration data or minimally available data. The algorithm takes a set
     of signal strengths from known room locations in a building and generates
     a function giving (x,y) as a function of signal strength, which function
     may then be used for the estimation of new locations. Radial basis
     functions, which are simple to express and compute, are used for
     regression. The fact that the algorithm maps signal strength to
     continuous location makes it possible to skip rooms during calibration,
     yet still evaluate the location in those rooms.

This is a good book to get one thinking about information displays, but putting them into practice is more challenging. Although much of what Tufte criticizes in displays could be considered "nitpicking," his points do have merit, albeit very difficult to put into practice with one's own work that does not model his examples. Personally, I do not agree with all of his criticisms as what is considered ideal, is to an extent, subjective.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;hr size="2" color="#666666" /&gt;&lt;div style="padding: 10px;"&gt;&lt;div style="text-align:left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;

There’s a long way to go however and the stadium is not due to be completed untl 2010 at the earliest, however if the finished product looks anything like the plans released by MZ &amp; Partners Architects then paying spectators are in for a treat.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;hr size="2" color="#666666" /&gt;&lt;div style="padding: 10px;"&gt;&lt;div style="text-align:left;"&gt;&lt;P&gt;After looking at the stadium from above you can immediately see why The Wall has already gained the nickname ‘The Laptop’. The stadium’s main stand sits upright, the majority of its height emerging from the underground pitch as if having been lifted opened by an enormous referee.
