Some include changing what you eat, like the Adkins diet or Southbeach Diet, others include protein shakes, or utterly starving yourself. The tried and true is obviously burn off more calories than you take in...but there are cases where that's not enough. Don't starve yourself and burn off 2000 calories in a day, that's dangerous and will be more detrimental to your body.

Clip Source: www.loseweighttea.org

Often times, diets and weight loss pills
taken in America have adverse side effects like malnutrition, decrease in

have also found out is the body usually jumps back worse off than before the

Cape Wind, a wind turbine project in Nantucket Sound, abuts the picturesque beaches of Cape Cod and has long divided Massachusetts residents. Many see the battle there as a proxy for nationwide debates over alternative energy. Now, just as the project looked likely to launch, two Wampanoag tribes have stalled the approval process by arguing
that turbines would interfere with their morning rituals by obstructing the rising sun. They also object to its placement in the seabed of the
Nantucket Sound, the resting place of their ancestors' remains.

Tags: alternative energy, environment, industrial wind, wind turbines

<clipSource>http://www.theatlanticwire.com/opinions/view/opinion/What-Will-We-Sacrifice-for-Wind-Power-1469</clipSource>

Wind power might blow a hole in bird populations

clipped by: CohoctonWindWatch

Clip Source: www.latimes.com

Wind is currently the only energy sector in the United States that is free from most forms of federal regulation. From California to Appalachia, each month sees new wind installations springing up like daisies, often with far too little environmental review.

In addition to habitat issues, bird collisions with wind turbines are mounting. It may look like those blades are spinning lazily in the breeze, but their tips can reach speeds of 200 miles per hour (for a 198-foot blade spinning at 15 revolutions a minute). The inevitable result is that birds and bats strike the blades, with estimates of as many as 11 birds killed by each turbine a year. Eagles, hawks and falcons are particularly susceptible as they hunt along ridge tops or in open areas. California's own Altamont Pass wind project has illustrated the potential of the bird-kill problem.

Tags: alternative energy, birds and bats, environment, industrial wind, wind turbines

<clipSource>http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-fry2-2009nov02,0,1954510.story</clipSource>

Tribes claim wind farm would destroy sacred ritual

clipped by: CohoctonWindWatch

Clip Source: www.google.com

The Wampanoag — the tribe that welcomed the Pilgrims in the 17th century and known as "The People of the First Light" — practice sacred rituals requiring an unblocked view of the sunrise.
