Gandhi 'never existed', Churchill 'made up'

Mahatma Gandhi never existed while Britain's wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill was a fictional character. Don't fret. This is only what most Britons think about the great leaders.

According to a survey carried out in Britain, many believe that Mahatma Gandhi and Churchill are just mythical figures like Florence Nightingale, popularly known as the 'Lady with the Lamp'.

Moreover, despite his celebrated military reputation, 47 per cent of respondents feel the 12th-century English King Richard the Lionheart is fictional, according to the survey of 3,000 British teens.

In contrast, a number of fictitious characters like Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur and Eleanor Rigby were given real life status.

While almost 65 per cent of respondents believe that mythical figure King Arthur existed and led a round table of knights at Camelot, 58 per cent of teens think that Holmes really lived at 221B Baker Street.

I will design my ships so that command and control functions cannot be hot-wired from a wall panel in the recreation bay.

Anyone who cannot be entertained by books, music, a good game of cards and a well-stocked bar will not be allowed to crew my ship. Hence there will be no need for a holodeck on my ship.

Under no circumstance will I agree to not develop or employ any particular technology.

If my ship is constantly being bugged, robbed, invaded, or taken over, I will replace my security officer, no matter how cool a character he is.

If my ship is whisked to the far side of the galaxy, leaving us with a seventy-year journey home, and a super-being offers to take us home instantly in exchange for having his baby, I'll agree and ask what we can get for two babies.

I will not depart the starbase unless my complement of Marines are on board.

I will never send the infantry down on missions that are better suited for orbital bombardment.

India Hindu Militants "Force" Orissa Christians To Convert "At Gunpoint"

Chrstians in Orissa fear new attacks from Hindu militants.

NEW DELHI, INDIA (BosNewsLife)-- Hindu militants have "forced" Christian families to "convert" to Hinduism and threatened to resume attacks against Christians in the eastern Indian state of Orissa, where up to nine people were killed in religious clashes last month, an advocacy group said Sunday, February 3.

The Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), which represents churches and missionary groups, told BosNewsLife that some 15 families in Orissa's tense Kandhamal District were "forcibly converted" in recent days "at gunpoint". Militants allegedly painted a Hindu sign "on the forehead of Christian tribal ladies" in Usurukupa village, while "feeding them goat blood mixed with raw rice" as part of the traditional "homecoming" Hindu ritual, the GCIC said.

Israeli/French BANKS Money Laundering on Grand Scale

Four banks, including Societe Generale, and 138 people, including the bank's chairman Daniel Bouton, are on trial over the multi-million dollar scam that allegedly began in the late 1990s.

The other banks include Societe Marseillaise de Credit, Barclays France and the National Bank of Pakistan.

Societe Generale revealed late last month it had lost a staggering 4.8 billion euros (7.1 billion dollars) in the biggest rogue trading scandal in history.

Takeover talk is now swirling around France's third largest bank, with two French banks eyeing a possible bid on Societe Generale. "

All four banks are charged with contributing to money laundering and profiting from the deals
