SearchEngineColossus is great for doing targeted searches in any language using the actual engine that locals use.

Answers.com. Answers.com lets you type in a question and then sifts through your search results to find the answer to your question.

SearchGov is a great way to search for government institutions and offices, and divisions within them.

If you remember a string of text from a book, you can often find it in context at SearcheBooks.

HATFIELD, ARK. -- Deep in the woods near Brushy Creek stands an old beech tree, its smooth bark etched with dozens of carvings, including biblical references, a heart and a legless horse.

Bob Brewer was 10 when his great-uncle, W.D. "Grandpa" Ashcraft, pointed it out on a logging trip 57 years ago.

"He said, 'Boy, you see that tree? That's a treasure tree,' " Brewer recalled on a recent visit to the site. " 'You see that writing? If you can figure out what that is, you'll find some gold.' "

The old man didn't elaborate, but his words stuck with Brewer through childhood and two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Navy helicopter crewman. So did memories of Grandpa's frequent, unexplained horseback rides into the nearby Ouachita Mountains.

After many years of research, he is among those who believe that the group buried millions in ill-gotten gold across a dozen states, to finance a second Civil War that never came to be. And he thinks Ashcraft and his son, Odis, had something to do with it.

I don't plan to marry again, but if for some reason I must, I might consider tying that knot with a robot.

The other day, you told me on the phone that as you are elder to me, so you have more experience of life...may be it holds true in your case, also for my parents and even your parents...but that set me thinking...does Age always predetermine one's Experience ?

And I found myself saying: No

May be, that little homeless boy on the street has gathered more experience than children like Sunny and Shoma who are given a sheltered life by us...

May be that rag-picker woman who has to struggle daily to make both ends meet and live with dignity in a man's world, even though she may be years younger to me, life may have taught her much more because of her harsh experiences...

May be that street-hawker, or that riksha-wallah, or that beggar, even though they may be years younger to us...yet life has added years to their life...for they learned it the hard way...

So Mental Age is always independent of Chronological Age.

Researchers have discovered that the male of the species gathers gifts from his submarine environment to present to a potential mate. It could be just a stick, or a lump of debris.

The findings come from a three-year study in the Brazilian Amazon. Hundreds of males were observed carrying objects in their snouts, and there was convincing evidence that the practice was linked to mating rituals.

Fascinatingly, DNA tests on adults and calves revealed that the males who carried the most objects were the most successful fathers.

Only a few species of animal have culture and most are apes and monkeys.

A second study of bottlenosedolphins in Australia offered further evidence of cultural behaviour.

Some of the creatures were found to break off pieces of marine sponge and hold them over their snouts to protect themselves when probing the ocean floor.

People are generally optimistic, believing they’ll do better in the future than they’ve done in the past. This time around, I’ll actually use that gym membership. I’m sticking to the diet this time. Now is the time to start saving for a down payment on a house. However, a new study in the Journal of Consumer Research reveals that this “optimism bias” can lead us to make immediate choices that go against our long-term goals.

Ying Zhang, Ayelet Fishbach (both of the University of Chicago), and Ravi Dhar (Yale University) identify how different mindsets work in conjunction with an optimistic attitude. They found that when people think about the goal in terms of progress, they are more likely to make a detrimental decision – such as eating an unhealthy snack. However, when people focus on commitment to a goal, they are more likely to choose an action consistent with its attainment.
