Failing to make your bed in the morning may actually help keep you healthy, scientists believe.

Research suggests that while an unmade bed may look scruffy it is also unappealing to house dust mites thought to cause asthma and other allergies.

A Kingston University study discovered the bugs cannot survive in the warm, dry conditions found in an unmade bed.

Something as simple as leaving a bed unmade during the day can remove moisture from the sheets and mattress so the mites will dehydrate and eventually die

The bugs, which are less than a millimetre long, feed on scales of human skin and produce allergens which are easily inhaled during sleep.

The average bed could be home to up to 1.5 million house dust mites.

£700m spent treating mite-induced illnesses each year in the UK.

Big Hard He Man Jailed for Urinating on Dying Woman

A man who urinated on a woman as she lay dying and shouted "this is YouTube material" has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The 50-year-old, who suffered from a number of medical conditions, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The court heard how, on 27 July, Miss Lakinski was making her way home with a box of laminate flooring when she fell ill and stumbled into a doorway.

Anderson, a former soldier, had smoked a cannabis joint and been drinking when he and two friends spotted her.

He tried to rouse her by throwing a bucket of water over her, before urinating on her and covering her with shaving foam.

A crowd had gathered around, watching and laughing, and the incident was filmed on a mobile phone.

Miss Lakinski's family said in a statement:

those who stood by and did nothing to stop Anderson are also guilty in our eyes.

"It beggars belief that these people chose not only to condone his cruelty, but also to walk away from a neighbour who was clearly in distress and needed help.

I firmly believe that you are the most yourself when you are thinking the least about yourself and last thing you want to be thinking about now is you. It doesn't have to be an official volunteer gig but those do get something else on your calendar."

I find that tips like these also help combat depression.

So the worst has happened and now you're alone. I offer the following coping devices. Mostly common sense, they are time and road tested.

Take pleasure in your new space. There's a certain satisfaction in having your things where you want them. Take your time getting it right. Put out things that you like, comforting familiar things.

Keep it neat. Your natural inclination may be to wallow in squalor. That's a perfectly natural feeling but you must resist it. Seeing an army of flies fly out of your mountain of unwashed dishes will only make you feel worse

Find your sanctuaries-those places that make you feel calm. They'll be different for each person-mine have included a lake, the library and the Humane Society

Write

Choose your crutches wisely. Drink and drugs are not good crutches. Bad TV is fine. DVD box sets and pets are better

Take walks. Even if you're not a hiker it's good for you. Nature doesn't give a damn about your broken heart and sometimes that can be comforting

Radical Hispanic separatist organization MEChA ("Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan") is taking responsibility for setting the wildfires in California, confimed Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

California officials received a letter earlier today containing photographs of individuals holding Molotov cocktails, then throwing them into dry brush. The faces of the individuals appeared to have been digitally distorted.

Also included was a rambling manifesto, stating that the reason for the act of arson was that "Aztlán belongs to indigenous people, the Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán. We are sovereign and not subject to a foreign culture."

"The reason we think it is [arson] is because we found multiple points of origin," Concepcion said. "... Our investigators have confirmed that this is, in fact, arson."

Concepcion said evidence indicated the arsonists wanted the fire to grow rapidly.

I was surprised to hear her insistence at wanting to divide the country, albeit that the invitation was extended to her on behalf of the Republicans.

I had never heard so much liberal/Democrat bashing. In her eyes, they were on the same footing as the terrorists.

She colorfully compared Guantanamo Bay to ‘freshman dorms’ where one eats well and gains 20 pounds, not foregoing the damning reports from the neutral Swiss-based Red Cross, and as her hatred of Muslims spewed out, she exclaimed: “ “they are savage, and I want to kill them.”

It is this hatred, this desire for ‘going for the kill’ that made her give the advice which shocked me.

Ann Coulter is known for her controversial remarks. She makes her living by being hateful. My apprehension comes from the fact that so many follow her blindly and are in total agreement with her. T
