Extreme star cluster in new Hubble images

This Hubble image shows the gigantic nebula NGC 3603 located in the Carina spiral arm of the Milky Way, about 20 000 light-years from the Solar System.

NGC 3603 hosts one of the most prominent, massive, young clusters in the Milky Way. Hubble has been observing this prime location for star formation studies.

The images show a young star cluster surrounded by a vast region of dust and gas. Most of the bright stars in the image are hot, blue stars. They produce ultraviolet radiation and violent winds that have formed an enormous cavity in the gas and dust surrounding the cluster.

The best case scenario would be for us to denounce the actions through either impeachment or at the least, censure. If not, it will not merely be the administration being tried, it will be the US as a whole for going along with it, not doing anything!

While the Democratic Congress has yet to begin a serious investigation into what many European legislators already know about American war crimes, a particularly telling report by the International Committee of the Red Cross has been leaked that would surely figure prominently in such a potential Nuremberg trial. The Red Cross itself is bound to public silence concerning the results of its human-rights probes of prisons around the world-or else governments wouldn't let them in.

If we, the people, are ultimately condemned by a world court for our complicity and silence in these war crimes, we can always try to echo those Germans who claimed not to know what Hitler and his enforcers were doing. But in Nazi Germany, people had no way of insisting on finding out what happened to their disappeared neighbors.

clipper's remarks: If someone has been in a rut for a while, they can forget they are in a rut, become creatures of habit (perhaps even conservative,) and ask few questions. The rut needs to be removed by people who can shock victims of habitual thinking into thinking for themselves. Doing something that does not fit a pattern, can cause people to have to try and draw their own conclusions.
They suggest being mysterious, but comforting. Another way they describe it is as acting crazy, without seeming dangerous. One good example (My example not theirs, so don't blame them if it doesn't work, I'm sure there are many) Is to replace an expletive with a word that that sounds similar, but has nothing to do with the subject. (Sometimes this needs practice.)- and no minced oath. The best curses are absolutely original.
I'm sure everyone can find their own way to be mysterious, without cursing at all. More suggestions on how to act crazy without being committed are on the page.

A team of scientists says it has found a string of vast, rich forests in an unexpected setting: far below the coral reefs found in the tropical Pacific Ocean. The new forests are made out of kelp plants that harbor a huge range of plants and animals. Like tropical rainforests, they may be refuges from threats posed by global climate change.

After the controversial appearance of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at Columbia University last week, an Iranian university yesterday invited President Bush to travel to Iran and speak on campus about a range of issues, including the Holocaust, terrorism, human rights and U.S. foreign policy, the Fars News Agency reported yesterday.

The invitation from Ferdowsi University in the northeastern city of Mashhad asked Bush to answer questions from students and professors "just the same way" that Ahmadinejad took questions "despite all the insults directed at him."

The White House said yesterday that Bush would be willing to travel to Iran, but under different circumstances.

"President Bush looks forward to traveling to a democratic Iran, an Iran where its leaders allow freedom of speech and assembly for all of its people and an Iran where the leaders mourn the victims of the Holocaust, not call for the destruction of Israel," National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.
