`DISCRIMINATION BY BROADBAND NETWORK PROVIDERS

`Sec. 28. (a) It shall be unlawful for any broadband network provider--

(1) to fail to provide its broadband network services on reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms

(3)(A) to block, to impair, to discriminate against, or to interfere with the ability of any person to use a broadband network service to access, to use, to send, to receive, or to offer lawful content, applications or services

`(B) to impose an additional charge to avoid any conduct that is prohibited by this subsection;

And that the Pentagon has created an illegal database of 30 million 16-25 year-olds, including names, addresses, email addresses, cell phone numbers, ethnicities, social security numbers, extracurricular activities, and areas of study?

Yikes. What do we do? Any way you look at it, this is a family privacy nightmare, another strong-arming of our local schools, and a creepy warm-up to a possible draft. However, it's also a great reason to get together and take action.

The IOC will consider ending the international leg of the Beijing Olympic torch relay as a result of the anti-Chinese protests

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge says the issue will be discussed by the organization's executive board on Friday.

Rogge told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he is "deeply saddened" by the violent protests in London and Paris and concerned about the upcoming torch relay in San Francisco.

He says the issue must be discussed by the ruling executive board.

Protest Poem written by Chinese poet follows the Olympic torch

The poem has arrived at Belgian (Dutch-Speaking), Belgian (French-speaking), Netherlands, German, Basque, Suisse Romand, Swiss German, Esperanto and Trieste Centres. On April 9 it goes to Swiss-Italian Reto-Romansh, Canadian and Quebecois PEN Centres, the American branch of the Writers in Exile Centre, and the proposed Haiti Centre.

The poem 'June' by imprisoned Chinese poet and journalist Shi Tao is relaying around the world, country to country, language to language, until it reaches Beijing for the Olympics in August.

PEN Centres around the world have translated 'June' to over 60 (and counting) of the world's languages.

CAIRO, Egypt - Omar Osama bin Laden bears a striking resemblance to his notorious father — except for the dreadlocks that dangle halfway down his back

The 26-year-old does not renounce his father, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, but in an interview with The Associated Press, he said there is better way to defend Islam than militancy: Omar wants to be an "ambassador for peace" between Muslims and the West

It's about changing the ideas of the Western mind. A lot of people think Arabs — especially the bin Ladens, especially the sons of Osama — are all terrorists. This is not the truth

Omar lived with the al-Qaida leader in Sudan, then moved with him to Afghanistan in 1996.

There, Omar says he trained at an al-Qaida camp but in 2000 he decided there must be another way and he left his father, returning to his homeland of Saudi Arabia.

"I don't want to be in that situation to just fight. I like to find another way and this other way may be like we do now, talking," he said in English.

the group held a banners that read "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" "End the Iraq War" and "No War with Iran

Protesters sang "Auld Lang Syne," which Shaw said was in remembrance of lives lost in the war.

Huckabee disagrees with the group's philosophy.

"The governor said the way to end the war is to win it," Woolson said. "They clearly have a different position and their position is we ought to cut and run. ... There's a clear difference of opinion on that."

The group said it will continue actions of civil disobedience through Jan. 3, the day of the Iowa caucuses.
