With a 50 percent high school dropout rate and a 70 percent illegitimacy rate, with African-Americans committing half the nation’s murders though only 13 percent of the population, black America—especially the poorer part of it—is in trouble. “We cannot blame white people,” Cosby asserted in his incendiary speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board school desegregation decision. “It’s not what they’re doing to us. It’s what we’re not doing.” As Jesse Jackson used to say, Cosby recalls, “No one can save us from us but us.”

So while “there are forces that make the effort to escape poverty difficult,” African-Americans are by no means merely the playthings of vast forces and helpless victims of racism. “When people tell you, ‘You can’t get up, you’re a victim,’ ” Cosby warns, “that’s when you know it is the devil you’re hearing.”

Christian preachers face arrest in Birmingham

The evangelists say they were threatened with arrest for committing a "hate crime" and were told they risked being beaten up if they returned. The incident will fuel fears that "no-go areas" for Christians are emerging in British towns and cities, as the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, claimed in The Sunday Telegraph this year.

Arthur Cunningham, 48, and Joseph Abraham, 65, both full-time evangelical ministers, have launched legal action against West Midlands Police, claiming the officer infringed their right to profess their religion.

Mr Abraham said: "I couldn't believe this was happening in Britain. The Bishop of Rochester was criticised by the Church of England recently when he said there were no-go areas in Britain but he was right; there are certainly no-go areas for Christians who want to share the gospel."

Greed is a very real emotion which can be used for good or evil. When it is the factor which motivates a man to develop life saving medicines or technologies, greed is good. But when it motivates other men to take the lawful earnings of others, to grab personal power via corrupt political office by buying the votes of fools, greed is evil.

Money is neither good nor evil. When used for good, money is good and when used for evil, it becomes evil. There is no more evil on earth than the enslavement of human beings in the name of a greater common good. There is no greater common good than individual freedom itself.

A man who whips his naive supporters up using tactics, imagery, and organic unity not seen since the early 1930's. The American People are in fact the problem when this is the man that one of the major parties in the US seems to believe is fit to be President of the U.S.

In a national epidemic of individual irresponsibility, it has become a national pastime to accuse politicians of destroying America, but it is the American people who are the real problem.

When the American vote was not for sale, it could not be purchased at any price. When most Americans were real patriots, “a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion” – they were not so easily fooled by promises of free benefits (paid for by others) and snake oil salesmen promising dancing sugar plums from the campaign stage.

Politicians are nothing more than a manifestation of the perceived will of the people. Politicians pander. Most politicians don’t care what they have to promise to purchase your vote, so long as your vote is for sale.

Yet by 2008, our government has perfected the art of wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

As American soldiers die to guarantee others around the world, the right to individual self-determination, average Americans back home are trading their individual right of self-determination for an alleged greater good, the right to the earnings of others, in the name of economic equality.

Americans are passing their individual powers to define and pursue individual economic conditions to the state, the federal bureaucracy, under the guise of a greater communal good, whereby the state becomes the central arbiter of individual worth.

Many Americans have bought into a greater good sold as “economic equality.” This is the cancer that is bringing freedom’s reign to an end. The quest for political power to rule over the lives of others has driven politicians to seek ever increasing power over what were once private earned resources.

Individual votes have been divided into voting blocs and those blocs are purchased with ideologically driven gifts from the treasury. As Thomas Jefferson pointed out so well, “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” It’s called Democratic Socialism today.

Abraham Lincoln said it exactly right! But few Americans care to hear his words…

▪ You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

▪ You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

▪ You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

▪ You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

▪ You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

▪ You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.

▪ You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

In the end, the rich will remain rich, even if they have to move their assets to safe havens off-shore, which is already happening. But the rest will no longer be free.

History repeats itself only because people refuse to remember the lessons of their past.

Only one, who lives in bondage, is willing to give everything for freedom. And, so we will learn again...the hard way.

Contrary to a widespread impression, G.K. Chesterton apparently never said that.

Still, it's a fine statement, and relevant to the modern form of Paganism which views the lives of the unborn, ready-to-be-born, or born-damaged as insignificant, but the social lives of Goldfish - and now the souls of asparagus - as sacred.

A quote from Smith at Weekly Standard:

What drives innovation and prosperity? Is the cure for poverty found in taxation on the “rich” and expanded social programs? If not, why not? And why is high unemployment so entrenched in France?

For the sake of mankind….for the Common Good …for the children….I urge you to go out and spend your own money on yourself and your family. Why? Because spending your own money for your own benefit results in the highest quality goods possible at the lowest prices possible. Because you care. And because you shop.

Government expenditures of your money for the benefit of someone else removes all incentive to either keep the cost of the goods and services down, or to maintain high quality goods or services. This results in shortages, poor quality, corruption, high costs.

The public’s reliance on distorted, simplistic stereotypes for its political views was noticed as long ago as the 1920s by Walter Lippmann

more than 86 percent of the American people based their political decisions on criteria ranging from blind party loyalty and a candidate’s perceived personal traits (is he smart? does he “care about people like us”?) to such vague and dubious criteria as the “nature of the times” (if there is prosperity and peace, the incumbent party must be responsible) and primitive judgments about the attitudes of political parties toward social groups such as races and classes. Even most members of the small segment of the public that relied for political guidance on “liberal” or “conservative” ideas had only a rather feeble grasp of the meaning and policy significance of those ideas.

A while back there was a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper that offered a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American!

So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is, so they would know when they found one:

An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek.

An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American is generous.

The Department of Justice reports that approximately 8,000 blacks were murdered in the United States in 2005. In one year, that's exactly double the total number of American military deaths during the entire five years of the war in Iraq

A recent study by the Bureau of Justice Statistics at the Department of Justice shows that blacks committed murders in 2005 at a rate seven times higher than whites.

For 1976 through 2005, the Justice Department reports that blacks, 12 percent of the U.S. population, committed 52 percent of the nation's murders and were 47 percent of all murder victims.

Until I heard the racist and anti-American tirades of Barack Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, it hadn't occurred to me that the murderous fires in the black community were being stoked from the pulpits inside black churches.
