sIFR (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) was one of the first dynamic text replacement methods, developed in the spring of 2005. It uses JavaScript and Flash to convert any text you designate on a page to any typeface you choose and has been released as open source under the CC-GNU LGPL license, so it’s free for anyone to use.

P+C DTR (with word-wrapping and inner tags) (the “P” and “C” standing for PHP and CSS) is a text replacement method that works with PHP and CSS rather than Flash or JavaScript. Considering that PHP is a server-side language, and every modern browser automatically supports CSS, this method has some advantages over those that use Flash or JavaScript. This version of P+C DTR is based on the original P+C DTR method, but with the addition of word-wrapping and inner tags.

Cufón was created as an sIFR alternative. It uses JavaScript to replace text, without Flash, making it more widely compatible than sIFR.

Here are some key ways to cure Someday Syndrome so that you don’t need to suffer through a cure.

Be you. This is the happiness project’s number one happiness commandment. Maybe you’re not doing something because in reality, it doesn’t fit with who you are. If so, dump the idea and the expectations that likely came along with it, and go find something that suits you better.

Clear out the junk.

Know what you want.

Make a grand plan.

Take one step at a time.

Ignore the rest.

Get help.

Don’t compare.

Be uncomfortable.

Celebrate the process as well as the end.

Don’t stop at the easy point.

Get in early so that you can take advantage of early bird discounts and secure your space before the show gets “cherry picked.”

I am still not sold on the value of Twitter (See Twitter for the ADD Generation). Yet, Zappos CEO, Tony Hsieh, sees great worth in using the socila medium for spreading the word and getting feedback about his company.

Here is a brief piece from an interview with Inc. Magazine:

You have 5,681 “followers” signed up to read your Twitter updates — that’s not just employees. Who are they?

We have eight million customers. It’s been great for getting feedback. For example, we have a new website that’s still in beta. As we make improvements, I’ll send out a Twitter message asking people what they think.

Create a "Home" or "Office" tab.

Rename Sheet2 as "Template" and Sheet3 as "Points"

Create the Importance table.

Define the name "Importance".

Create the Effort Table.

Create the Urgency table.

Enter headings on Home tab. Click on the Home tab and insert headings in row 1:

A - Priority A formula, 1 for the most important task, but can be over 100

B - Task Name of the task.

C - Importance An A, B, C, D, E, or F from the table.

D - Effort A 1-5, from the Effort table.

E - Urgency A formula based on Due date.

G - Ramp Up Days prior to Due date you could start task.

H - Extension Automatic extension of Due date

Comment

Enter your list of tasks.

Enter formulas for Days Left, Urgency and Priority.

I (Days Left) =F2-IF(ISBLANK(J2),TODAY(),J2)

E (Urgency) =IF(I2>G2,5,IF(I2>0,4,IF(I2=0,3,IF(I2+H2>0,2,1))))

Change the format for Cell I2 to Integer

Copy formulas for Priority, Urgency and Days Left to the remaining cells in each column.
