Homebuyers must sign a contract before April 30 and close by June 30. The income limits were also raised: Single buyers can now earn up to $125,000 and still get the full credit while a married couple can earn $225,000.

The bill also made more homeowners eligible to claim the credit on their taxes. First-time buyers -- those who have not owned a home in the past three years -- still qualify for an $8,000 rebate. But now people who want to trade up can also qualify. Those who have owned and occupied a residence for at least five years out of the past eight can claim a $6,500 tax credit if they close on a purchase by the end of June.

<clipSource>http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/06/real_estate/tax_credit_extended/?postversion=2009110615</clipSource>

lionetti market

clipped by: wbrokhof

Clip Source: www.lionettesmarket.com

The solution to the country’s dangerous food supply is quite simple: Stop eating food from supermarkets. Stop eating food from around the planet. Eat local and buy it locally. Rather than manage and regulate a broken and dangerous food supply, we should spend our money and support the people who supply healthy and nutritious food. Remember, Americans pay less per capita on food than anyone else on the planet. So if we just learn from everyone else and focus our income on what we need to survive and not what the latest cell phone will do, it will become much easier to pay the appropriate price for food.

Lionette's Market

<clipSource>http://www.lionettesmarket.com/</clipSource>

HERS index

clipped by: wbrokhof

Clip Source: www.resnet.us

<clipSource>http://www.resnet.us/about/resnet.htm</clipSource>

kitchen computer

clipped by: wbrokhof

Clip Source: lifehacker.com

Build an Under-the-Cabinet Kitchen PC from an Old Laptop

Large, well-detailed houses constructed in the mid-1880s, exhibiting complex plans, asymmetrical fenestration, elaborate porches, contrasting surface textures, and multiple chimneys, stand at 6, 8, 22 Everett Street, 11 Revere Street, and 11 Roanoke Avenue. 10 Revere Street, an exceptional example of the style designed by the well-known Boston firm of Ware and Van Brunt, is also responsible for Memorial Hall and the Episcopal Divinity School at Harvard University. This handsome house has an unusual roofline, vertical and horizontal boarding, turned porch posts, and a lively mix of shingles and clapboards. Other good examples of the style are located at 9 and 14 Newbern Street.

<clipSource>http://www.jphs.org/locales/2005/4/14/sumner-hill-historic-district.html</clipSource>

grassrootsmodern.com

clipped by: wbrokhof

Clip Source: grassrootsmodern.com

Our house, making the modern home affordable

Clip Source: grassrootsmodern.com

About

Grassroots Modern was started to help those who are looking for a modern contemporary style at an affordable price. The same London cafes that stimulated Ben Franklin also helped spread cholera; Picasso eventually bought an estate in quiet Provence. While the modern city might be a haven for playwrights, poets, and physicists, it's also a deeply unnatural and overwhelming place.

Natural settings, in contrast, don't require the same amount of cognitive effort. This idea is known as attention restoration theory, or ART, and it was first developed by Stephen Kaplan, a psychologist at the University of Michigan. While it's long been known that human attention is a scarce resource -- focusing in the morning makes it harder to focus in the afternoon -- Kaplan hypothesized that immersion in nature might have a restorative effect.

<clipSource>http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2009/01/04/how_the_city_hurts_your_brain/?s_campaign=8315</clipSource>

Arson in JP out of control

clipped by: wbrokhof

Clip Source: www.universalhub.com

Jamaica Plain salon hit by arson again

By adamg - Tue, 01/06/2009 - 8:53am.

Blue Socks, who took the above photo, reports that Maria's Hair Fashion, 138 South St. (pre-fire street view), was apparently firebombed around 4 a.m. today.
