The second lunar eclipse of the year is another total eclipse. It is a deeper event since it is the first central total eclipse since 2000.

The Moon's trajectory takes it deep into the southern umbral shadow, resulting in a total eclipse that lasts 90 minutes

All of North America will witness some portion of the eclipse, but western observers are favored. The early penumbral or umbral phases will be in progress at moonset for observers in Maritime Canada. From the eastern USA, the Great Lakes region and Ontario, the Moon sets in total eclipse. Only observers to the west of the Rockies (including Alaska) will be treated to the entire event.

Police have identified a suspect in the stabbing death of a Chicago dermatologist in his downtown office last year, according to a report.

The Chicago Sun-Times identified the man as Hans Peterson and said he told the police that he thought the doctor had prescribed an acne medicine that had rendered him impotent.

Police have worked for 10 months to try to solve Cornbleet's slaying. He was found stabbed to death inside his Michigan Avenue office.

Authorities thanked the Cornbleet family for helping to keep public attention focused on the case through the news media and by using the social networking site MySpace.com to feature information about the crime.

Authorities would not discuss what information they got from MySpace that helped in the case, but Peterson said "that started the ball rolling" for the warrant, which was based on DNA.

Cat Avoids Blaze By Hiding In Couch

(AP) A New Jersey cat may have only eight lives left after it survived a house fire by hiding in the couch.

Firefighters initially thought the feline, who belonged to one of the tenants in the two-story house, had been killed by flames and smoke Saturday night. But after putting out the blaze and surveying the damage, they found the cat wedged into the couch.

"They should change that cat's name to Lucky."

Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Melvin Sandvig yesterday slapped a landmark temporary restraining order on Jack McClellan which makes it almost impossible for the 45-year-old American to live in California.

McClellan, who has appeared on US TV talkshows and openly admitted to being a pedophile, horrified US parents and child advocacy groups by setting up a website rating the best public areas to view little girls.

It is now illegal for McClellan to go within 10 yards (9.1m) of a child in California.

The order basically blocks McClellan from visiting supermarkets, banks, service stations or other public places without risking breaching the order.

The order specifically prohibits McClellan from following, stalking, hitting or loitering around any minor.

He also cannot contact or photograph a child or post on the internet pictures or video of a minor without parental consent.
