Most money bills have famous people on them - presidents, royalty, religion leaders or any other people lucky enough to get their face on a bill. If you don’t mind folding a bill (I know some people that do) you can make something really neat. All you need is a bill with a portrait and get folding.

'Sleeping' pilots fly right past destination

AN Air India flight headed for Mumbai overshot its destination and was halfway to Goa before its dozing pilots were woken out of a deep slumber by air traffic control, a report said.

The plane flew to Mumbai on autopilot, but when air traffic there tried to help the aircraft land, the plane ignored their instructions and carried on at full speed towards Goa.

"It was only after the aircraft reached Mumbai airspace that air traffic control realised it was not responding to any instructions and was carrying on its own course,'' the source said.

"The aircraft should have begun its descent about 100 miles (160km) from Mumbai, but here it was still at cruising altitude. We checked for hijack.''

Finally air traffic control buzzed the cockpit and woke up the pilots, who turned the plane around, the report said.

Just as humans tune into their favourite radio station, an unusual frog from China can shift its hearing from one frequency to another in order to selectively choose what it hears.

Known as the Concave-eared Torrent Frog, Odorrana tormota, is the only known animal in the world that can manipulate its hearing system to select particular frequencies, according to a paper in theProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Humans appear to possess a modicum of control, but our system is slow compared to that of the frog and we cannot, with precision, tune our ears to match sounds.

The researchers believe the rare amphibian likely evolved its hearing talent out of necessity, since its environment is so noisy.

The frog doesn't shout, but it instead sings like a bird either in audible chirp-like frequencies or by emitting very high-pitched ultrasonic sounds.

Church Bells Stolen for Scrap

A small village in northeast Hungary is trying to find three stolen church bells before scrap metal dealers destroy them.

The bells, weighing more than 535 pounds, were removed from the church belfry apparently for their copper content, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported Wednesday.

Mayor Zoltan Kalo of Csernely, Hungary, says the village of 1,000 will never be able to afford to replace the bells.

Metal thefts are a major problem in Hungary even though parliament has made it harder for scrap metal dealers to accept items they know have been stolen.

Last week thieves broke into a training school for seeing-eye dogs and stole every metal object, including an obstacle course needed to teach the dogs how to lead.

Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women!

Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.

"Leave Santa alone."

A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.

Debby Cantlon, who plans to release Finnegan, the young squirrel, back into the wild, bottle-fed the infant squirrel after it was brought to her house.

When Cantlon took in the tiny creature and began caring for him, she found herself with an unlikely nurse’s aide: her pregnant Papillion, Mademoiselle Giselle.

Finnegan was resting in a nest in a cage just days before Giselle was due to deliver her puppies.

Cantlon and her husband watched as the dog dragged the squirrel’s cage twice to her own bedside before she gave birth.

Cantlon was concerned, yet ultimately decided to allow the squirrel out and the inter-species bonding began.

Finnegan rides a puppy mosh pit of sorts, burrowing in for warmth after feeding, eventually working his way beneath his new litter mates.
