The company bought in 8,000 litres of surplus white wine from a nearby vineyard - for a mere 1p a litre - and ran it through their distillery. Understandably, the vineyard's owner is keeping his head down, for fear of mobs in search of free plonk.

Green Fuels ended up with hundreds of litres of 99.8% pure ethano

ready to go, on a mix of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol.

only waste is fruit juice

to make biogas for electricity,

ethanol was sold for £1.10 a litre.

Any car can be converted to run on it,

not something we'd recommend people do at home

You're producing something that's extremely flammable."

<clipSource>http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/jul/02/travelandtransport.monarchy?gusrc=rss&feed=technologyfull</clipSource>

Read Dating- culture meets romance

clipped by: tidbit2
clipper's remarks: heard this on the radio
seems like a great idea

Clip Source: www.rte.ie

Brenda Donohue's Read Dating

Well you've heard of blind dates, double dates, the Knock Dating Bureau, internet dating, speed dating - and now we bring you the very latest approach in the dating game: read dating!

Read dating is 'a method of meeting a potential romantic partner by attending a read dating event, in which each person meets a series of individuals, and talks briefly to them about a favourite book'.

We are looking for 5 men and 5 women (who are single) to participate in Ireland's first read dating event! Are you sick of meeting people in crowded pubs and clubs, where you can never hear conversation? Do you find it difficult to meet like-minded potential dates? Do you want to meet your own book-loving Mr. or Ms. Right?

The first Irish read-dating event is taking place on Monday, June 16th, which is also Bloomsday. It will take place in Dublin's Ilac Centre library,

describe your ideal partner and tell us your favourite books

You must be single
You must be over 18

<clipSource>http://www.rte.ie/radio/mooneygoeswild/fp2008/read_dating.html</clipSource>

Ireland- the good the bad & the ugly

clipped by: tidbit2
clipper's remarks: more funny stuff
Most dangerous thing in Africa = Angry Hippo.
Most dangerous thing in Ireland = Angry bumble bee.
got to link hyperspace into wierd wonderful world of boards.ie
the after hours topics/discussions can ve fairly interesting special if your irish or think you are

Clip Source: www.boards.ie

Good things - Culture, following of music, rich history.. Screenclick (formerly DVDrentals) was established in 2001 when we realised Ireland could really use a service which
was more convenient and less expensive than traditional video stores.

We knew Irish customers were being ripped off with poor choice and extortionate Late Fees from some video stores
so we promised to never impose late charges and constantly develop the catalogue.

With many counties, towns and villages being located far from even the most basic video or DVDRental stores,
we thought Free Delivery would help too.

Finally, we knew that customers who signed up to a Rental Package deserved the freedom to leave the service
                whenever they wanted, without obligation.

Fully Irish owned, Screenclick is a service by Film Fans for Film Fans. We hope you find it affordable, efficient
and very very convenient. No matter where you are living, be it Dublin, Donegal, Wexford or Wicklow the service
is the same for all. [Big Hello to Sean B. on Inis Mor!]
