Ultrasound machine 'turns cheap plonk into fine wine in 30 minutes'

An entrepreneur claims to have invented a machine that turns a cheap bottle of plonk into a vintage-tasting wine in a matter of minutes.

Inventor Casey Jones says the £350 gadget uses ultrasound technology to recreate the effects of decades of ageing by colliding alcohol molecules inside the bottle.

The Ultrasonic Wine Ager, which looks like an ordinary ice bucket, takes 30 minutes to work and has already been given the thumbs up by an English winemaker.

Mr Jones, 53, said: "This machine can take your run-of-the-mill £3.99 bottle of plonk and turn it into a finest bottle of vintage tasting like it costs hundreds.

It works on any alcohol that tastes better aged, even a bottle of paintstripper whisky can taste like an 8-year-aged single malt.

"The look and bouquet of the drink is improved and because of the chemical changes, the alcohol is easier to absorb by the kidneys and therefore, hangovers are virtually eliminated.

Absolutely enormous rise in UFO sightings in the UK

London, Feb 8 (ANI): There has been an increase in the number of UFO sightings across the UK over the last year, according to the nations Ministry of Defence (MOD).

and they included clusters of as many as 100 mysterious objects, bright white lights and strange, triangular shaped objects.

Hilary Porter of the British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society (BEAMS) said that there has been an absolutely enormous rise in the number of UFO sightings.

“There has been a huge influx of UFOs. Absolutely enormous. There has been these huge formations than have been coming, the Telegraph quoted Porter, as saying.

“We have had so many calls from people that have seen these huge formations. We have had call after call after call, from business people right down to ordinary folk in their cars.

There have been some very close encounters that have been quite unnerving for the people involved. We have had other people reporting orb sightings,” she added.

Cancer-fighting agent found in beer

A key ingredient of beer may contain a cancer-fighting substance, a German study indicated.

Studies indicated xanthohumol, found in hops, inhibits a family of enzymes that can trigger the cancer process, as well as help the body detoxify carcinogens, science newswire Ivanhoe reported Monday. Preliminary studies at Oregon State University show that xanthohumol can kill breast, colon, ovarian and prostate cancers.

"It's very healthy. I think the ingredients in the beer are very good," Werner Back of Brewing Technology at the Technical University of Munich.

Xanthohumol contains more powerful antioxidants than vitamin E and some studies indicate it helps reduce oxidation of bad cholesterol, the newswire reported.

"Xanthohumol has been shown to be a very active substance against cancer," said Markus Herrmann , also in Munich. "It comes in small sticky beads, which you find within the hops."

It would take 60 regular beers to equal

one super beer.

Ouch -- that's 22 shots AFTER I down a dozen beers! Sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime drinking game... as in, I play it once and either die or develop an allergy to alcohol that means I can never take another sip.
