fellow Democrats. He embodies for us, the reason we chose this party over the
other big one and all of the smaller ones.
It's not easy being a

Karl Rove, who mesmerized so many Americans with his hypocritical rhetoric that

To: The New President and
Congress, The
undermining of the middle class which has been going on during the long
stranglehold of the Republican, takeover, is finally killing it.

Their
mission seems to appear, accomplished but I think they may be scratching their
heads and realizing, although, perhaps too late, that this isn't exactly what
they intended. If you kill an organism too quickly during torture you didn't do
it correctly. The goal is to distress the servitor just enough to show who's
boss but hold back a bit as to not finish 'em off.

Well, what was bound
to happen ... happened and the middle class is gasping its last

They started their segment with Vince Warren on the Supreme Court's ruling of June 12th... That the detainees will have the same rules that America abides by in our Constitution... This ruling has happened 3 times now... The last two times Bush and his Republican Congress had it somewhat annulled. The Judges did not do as they were told so their ruling cannot stand. With all their criminal efforts they have rendered America as the Pot and Uzbekistan the Kettle. The charred blackness which is on the Pot; doesn't see the black on himself and calls the kettle black!
Excerpted From Article:
But this is Uzbekistan, a repressive country where laws mean little, rights are relative and torture is endemic...

After criticism from Wash., Uzbekistan ejected the U S from a military base that was supplying the war effort in Afghanistan. How much influence should the US try to exercise — if any at all — over another country’s behavior? And will that country be receptive, given the abuse, indefinite detentions and closed tribunals that have been part of the United States’ record in recent years?

Clip Source: www.gainesville.com

After ’05 Uzbek Uprising, Issues Linger for West

A family at a cafe in Kokand, Uzbekistan. Now, they are turning their backs to resisters even though they themselves, decided not to fight an illegal war. Hmmm, I wonder why? In a free country, one should have the right to protest an unjust war but we are not a free country. The conscientious objectors have no where to turn.. They can't go back to their own country and Canada won't allow them to stay within their borders. Isn't it ironic that Bush and Cheney have illegally kidnapped and transported people out of different countries to deliver them for torture, abroad and have yet to receive punishment for their criminal actions. Yet a resister to an unlawful preempted war gets the book thrown at him. You must fight, and possibly die even if it is only for a neocon pipedream... Something is so wrong with this picture.
I sure hope President Bush enjoyed his game of golf today!

Clip Source: therealnews.com

Canada refuses to allow Iraq war resister to stay

Corey Glass is now the first Iraq war deserter facing deportation from Canada.
Last week his application to stay in the country was rejected. Lee Zaslofsky,
National Coordinator of The War Resisters Campaign in Canada, says Corey's case
is not unique. In December 2007, The Canadian House of Commons Standing
Committee on Citizenship and Immigration passed a motion calling on the Canadian
government to implement a program allowing conscientious objectors to apply for
permanent residence in Canada, and to cease any removal or deportation actions
applied to such individuals. The motion has not yet been passed by Parliament.
Toronto lawyer Jeffrey House says the court system does not allow soldiers to
question the illegality of the war, and as such the"main argument" and the "main
reason" that US soldiers put forward in refusing to continue fighting in Iraq,
is being kept out of the court system.

US denies soldier

right

question

illegality

war

Iraq

Tags: iraq, canada, war, resister

<clipSource>http://therealnews.com/t/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=74&jumival=1552&updaterx=2008-05-27+12%3A18%3A07</clipSource>

"Citizens' Subpoena" Demand Answers on Torture!

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: If you have not participated in any on-line activism but wished you had. In fact, what's going on right in front of our faces while Bush and his scourging cabal thumb their noses at us. Torture has been mentioned briefly by anchors and news sources but then it fades away... The fact that we have used this hellish force on fellow human beings, is something that should never fade. I can't do much, for that matter almost nothing but whenever I can call attention to this dreadful act, I will! I'll spread the word or feelings from the rooftops (or maybe just youtube) about how abominable torture is. But what is even more frightening than torture is that we Americans, have elected leaders who not only use this immoral practice but hold it up as a useful tool touting "the end justifies the means". I think it's more like an end to society and the beginning of anarchy. - The Bush administration was under court order not to discard evidence of
detainee torture and abuse months before the CIA destroyed videotapes that
revealed some of its harshest interrogation tactics.

Normally, that
would force the government to defend itself against obstruction allegations. But
the CIA may have an out: its clandestine network of overseas
prisons.

While judges focused on the detention center in Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba, and tried to guarantee that any evidence of detainee abuse would be
preserved, the CIA was performing its toughest questioning half a world away.
And by the time President Bush publicly acknowledged the secret prison system,

What is the President saying? Is it a lie or wishful denial, or positive thinking, or casuist ry, or political pandering?
Richard Pryor had a comedy routine where he advised husbands caught in flagranto to counter with “are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?” Sometimes we deny by closing our eyes. But sometimes we deny by rationalizing; by attacking the facts with negation and reasoning. President Bush can say the US doesn’t torture because he redefines US and torture.

To wit: The US is good and wouldn’t do anything bad. A few bad apple rogue torturers working the night shift at Abu Ghraib aren’t the US. And, aided by lawyers, he torques senseless the meaning of torture, restricting it by abstraction and redefinition, and by the Secretary of Defense special—reduction to the absurd.

Clip Source: www.youtube.com

Water-boarding a torture technique advocated by the Bush/Cheney Administration

I hope the American Civil Liberties Union, will get involved in this case it is just so outrageous. No one will want to allow their son or daughter to attend anything political... A closing of the minds of the young who are attending college so their minds can be opened, will be the result. It was a chilling event!

Clip Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

A Shocking Moment for Society: Tasering at University of Florida

Today's news shows a recognizable shock moment in the annals of a closing society. A very ordinary-looking American student -- Andrew Meyer, 21, at the University of Florida - was tasered by police when he asked a question of Senator John Kerry about the impeachment of President George Bush. His arms were pinned and as he tried to keep speaking he was shocked -- in spite of begging not to be hurt. A stunning piece of footage but unfortunately, historically, a very familiar and even tactical moment.

The first 'torture cellars' used by the SA, in Germany

Few German citizens objected because those abused there were seen as 'other'

But then, after this escalation of the use of force was accepted by the
population, students, journalists, opposition leaders, and clergy were similarly
abused

during their own arrests. Within six months dissent was stilled in Germany.

Tags: tasered florida, student, kerry, bush

<clipSource>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/naomi-wolf/a-shocking-moment-for-soc_b_64909.html</clipSource>
