John Sidney McCain III and George Walker Bush both represent the third generation of American dynasties. Both were born into positions of privilege against which they rebelled into mediocrity. Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior. At each step, with the aid of their fathers' powerful friends, both failed upward. And both shed their skins as Episcopalian members of the Washington elite to build political careers as self-styled, ranch-inhabiting Westerners who pray to Jesus in their wives' evangelical churches.
Rolling Stone Link: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/make_believe_maverick_the_real_john_mccain

Also On: http://www.thethinkingblue.com/MCPAIN.html

Clip Source: thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Is there a skeleton in John McCain's POW closet?

The Rolling Stone has an article called "Make-Believe Maverick"

<A

McCain's sensitivity to his shortness. (Huh?)

The shortness part,
isn't why I am blogging this. Because I could care less if McCain is touchy
about his lack of tallness. What I did find interesting was in the comment
section, at the bottom of the webpage. A comment made by an ex-Air Force
officer, who remarked about John McCain's POW HERO status and lack there of. Now
I don't know if this ex-Air Force officer knew John McCain or not. But
never-the-less, it raises a lot of suspicion about Maverick McCain's Hero Rank.
I can't help but wonder, why the Obama Camp doesn't seem interested in using it,
the same way the NASTY ONES, on the other side of the political arena would...

This is the only logical conclusion, the only way you can possibly parse the piles of (largely unscientific, but still pretty damn convincing) numbers and data and full-blown emotional consciousness now pouring in from all over the world, pumping our little presidential election full of all sorts of cosmic meaning and profundity and oh-my-God-can-it-be-true.

But if you're a hard-core McCainite and/or are under some sort of unfortunate,

The right-winged, learned ones who perhaps didn't sleep through all of their college courses, whip out the dialogue of mendacity every time they are threatened to be overthrown by THE OTHER PARTY. Oh they keep their fairytale myths alive all through their years of control but election time is when they really roll up their sleeves and get the SHIT shovels lined up to cover us all in blankets of Repulsive Untruths against our common senses and THE OTHER PARTY.
I picked up a newspaper belonging to a red bible belt area where many of the followers or better word SHEEP live and who desperately want to believe the crap their Right-winged commanders spew forth, even if it doesn't quite make sense to them. Here we are again being sucked into the McCain's version of this same Zone. Where the HELL is reality? McCain's pick of Sarah Palin is almost as troubling as a W. Bush second win. After proving himself totally incompetent with his first 4 years, the US people gave him the majority vote to rule for another 4 years. I know the rest of the world must think of us as Nut Cases. And we deserved the title! Sarah Palin is as nutty as a Jerry Falwell, the "man" who had babbled "AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it's God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals." AND, "The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country." ALSO, "Good Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions." Why is the internet tech community so quiet about this issue?

The bill, (S-1959) misleadingly called the Homegrown Terrorism and Violent Radicalization act of 2007 is a thought crime bill. The bill was passed in the house under a curious suspension of the rules usually reserved for non controversial issues like the naming of a post office.
------
This doesn't sound good to me... Terrorism Prevention Act, HR. 1955 / S. 1959. This legislation does not
criminalize conduct, but may well lead to criminalizing ideas or beliefs in
violation of the First Amendment. By targeting the Internet, it may result in
increased surveillance of Internet communications in violation of the Fourth
Amendment.

It defines "violent radicalism" as "adopting or promoting an extremist belief
system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance
political, religious, or social change." The term "extremist belief system" is
not defined.

"Ideologically based violence"

If a group of people blocked the doorway of a corporation that manufactured
weapons, or blocked a sidewalk during a demonstration, it might constitute the
use of "force" to promote "political beliefs."

We the undersigned strongly urge the Senate to refuse to pass S. 1959,

<clipSource>http://www.petitiononline.com/S1959/petition.html</clipSource>

Fun Media Source to Watch Iowa Caucus

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: Join The Party. You Don't Have To Be Young...

The Iowa caucus is an electoral event in which Iowa residents elect delegates to the county convention to which their precinct belongs. There are 99 counties in Iowa and thus 99 conventions. These county conventions then select delegates for both Iowa's Congressional District Convention and the State Convention, which eventually choose the delegates for the National Convention. The Iowa caucus is noteworthy for the amount of media attention it receives during U.S. presidential election years: Since 1972, the Iowa caucus has been the first major electoral event of the nominating process for President of the United States. It has served as an early indication of which candidates for President might win the nomination of their political party at that party's national convention.

The 2008 Iowa caucus takes place January 3.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_caucus

Clip Source: bravenewfilms.org

We create and host the best political videos on the web to inspire you to pssst... DO SOMETHING! Learn more →

Clip Source: gobnf.org

Hosted by Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz,
and Wes Clark, Jr.

Tags: bravenew film, iowa caucus

<clipSource>http://bravenewfilms.org/election?utm_source=rgemail</clipSource>
