In its January 22, 2008 edition, the Quebec City newspaper, Le Soleil, had a topic about generations by age group.

Generations are grouped as follows:

- The Silent generation, people born before 1945.

- The Baby Boomers, people born between 1945 and 1961.

- Generation X, people born between 1962 and 1976.

- Generation Y, people born between 1977 and 1989.

Why do we call the last one generation Y. I did not know, but

a caricaturist explains it eloquently below...Learned something new!

Most people, are appalled that we live in a world where people are shot, maimed, blown up or mutilated because they are trying to create a better place for mankind. Our country has gone through some grievous times with the assassination of a president, the shooting of another president, the murder of a man of peace who's passion was to see that all people get what the constitution awards, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and a bullet to the head of a man campaigning for the highest position of the land while still grieving over his own brother's murder.

We still haven't completely healed from all the wanton destruction this country has encountered. For someone to go on the airwaves, the people's airwaves and joke about execution type slayings is loathsome to no end. If she is allowed continued TV appearances by simply uttering a little unrepentant apology, none of us should stand for it. More Below:

Exit poll: Whites help Clinton in KY, not OR

White voters played a decisive role in Hillary Rodham Clinton's lopsided victory Tuesday in Kentucky's Democratic presidential primary. Barack Obama got the victory in more liberal Oregon, where race and the hard-edged rivalry between the two embattled candidates were muted.

Nearly nine in 10 of each state's voters were white,

but there the similarities ceased. Kentucky's less educated, less liberal, poorer and more rural population fit the profile of states where Clinton has done well, while Oregon's better schooled, more affluent and urban residents more resembled those that have delivered for him all year.

Just 45 percent of whites in Kentucky said they would vote for Obama in a matchup with John McCain in the general election — underscoring a challenge facing Democrats in the fall campaign.

Racial attitudes were also striking. About one in five whites in Kentucky said race played a role in choosing their candidate

What a collection of haters in one place!

John McCain seeks to distance himself from the ugly vitriol of James Dobson, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin et al. Yet I recall McCain's telling a truly offensive joke about Chelsea Clinton's looks, and responding to a supporter who asked in regard to Hillary, "How do we beat the bitch?" by calling that "an excellent question." So can he really claim the high moral ground here? The reality is that the Republican Party has made hating, dividing and promoting fear its hallmark during the Bush years, and it is naive to expect that it will change, whether it faces Hillary or Obama. The goal of this election must be to take hatred out of power.

Big Pharma is pumping out the pretty colored gems as fast as the doctors can write out their illegible prescriptions. The money pours across the palms of the execs in media to brainwash the gullibles into believing they need at least 50 pills a day to stay alive and active. Case in point, a local doctor who resides in a rural town thinks nothing of threatening a patient with a "IF YOU DON'T TAKE THIS MEDICATION I AM PRESCRIBING, I WILL CALL YOUR INSURER AND TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE DELIBERATELY RISKING YOUR HEALTH AND THEY WILL DROP YOU!" Sounds a bit bizarre doesn't it? Well, it really happened. This particular health care provider, prescribes anti-cholesterol drugs like it's going out of style. No Joke! Now studies are proving that we need some cholesterol in our systems, it's enough to make you want to ban Big Pharma's drugs and all the sycophants who do their bidding.

Cholesterol Has Benefits, Too

Cholesterol may not be all bad, and may in fact have some benefits, according to a new study from researchers at Texas A&M University.

The study involved 55 men and women between the ages of 60 and 69 who exercised three days a week for 12 weeks.

A significant association was found between dietary cholesterol and change in strength. It was found that lower cholesterol levels reduced muscle gain that occurred with exercise, while those with higher cholesterol intake also had the highest gains in muscle strength.

“Our findings show that the restricting of cholesterol -- while in the process of exercising -- appears to affect building muscle mass in a negative manner,” the researchers said.

They suggested that the effect may be due to cholesterol’s role in the inflammation process. More cholesterol in your blood may lead to a greater inflammatory response that is useful for building muscles.

A LOVE STORY

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, "I think I am going to have a little whisk broom!"

For all of us who are married, were married, wish you were married, or wish you weren't married, this is something to smile about the next time you see a bottle of wine:

Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road .

As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at EVERYTHING she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.

"What in bag?" asked the old woman.

Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."

The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said: "Good trade."

Poor little critters, they will probably be swatted in droves. As a matter of fact, why stop at dragonflies? Technology is growing faster than our own imaginations. I am sure they are working on a housefly prototype or maybe even a mosquito. Just imagine, they will be able to take samples of your blood type without your knowledge. Hey, wait a minute, they will even be able to inject you with some mind altering medications via mosquito robot... and we just thought it was our telephones that were being tapped, silly us!

PS: Do you think maybe, Tom (THE BUG MAN) Delay had anything to do with this idea. Hmmm, I wonder.

I use to watch it during the early lead up days to Bush's illegal war against Iraq. I spoke the word I use frequently when I'm in a state of extreme perplexity... HUH? Let's see now, who was this bit of propaganda directed at? Oh, I know it was for those who don't become alarmed at human beings becoming collateral damage

Watching Fox News can be as funny as it is frustrating. But the new book Fair and Balanced, My Ass! shows we dismiss them at our peril.

But again, by objective measures, Fox does a demonstrably poor job of presenting the cold, hard facts in a spin-free fashion.

24 percent of the stories on MSNBC's Hardball With Chris Matthews contained the host's opinion, compared with 97 percent on The O'Reilly Factor. The report also analyzed coverage of the war in Iraq, finding that 73 percent of Fox's Iraq war stories contained opinion, compared with 2 percent for CNN and 29 percent for MSNBC. Fox was also around twice as likely as its competitors to run positive stories about the war and far more likely to run positive stories than negative ones.

Fox not only doesn't admit it, it famously cloaks themselves in a tawdry veil of objectivity, endlessly shouting their "Fair and Balanced"

until their viewers are finally programmed

President George W. Bush was scheduled to visit the Episcopal Church outside Washington as part of his campaign to restore his poll standings.
Bush's campaign manager made a visit to the Bishop, and said to him, "We've been getting a lot of bad publicity because of the president's position on stem cell research, the Iraq war, Katrina, and the like. We'd gladly make a contribution to the church of $100,000 if during your sermon you'd say the President is a saint."

The Bishop thought it over for a few moments and finally said, "The Church is in desperate need of funds and I will agree to do it."
