We are still living in the DARK AGES as far as ignorance amongst the American populous. I don't know when it will change, if ever. When I got a job as a civil service employee, in the 60's, working for The Clerk of Quarter Sessions, I had a DOOFUS (click) boyfriend tell me, not to take the job because I would be outnumbered by blacks and maybe even wind up with a black boss.

At that time, I had a friend who was a civil service employee tell me, "it's a good opportunity, don't pass it up". So I took the job and found out... HOLY JUMPING JUPITER, BATMAN, dark skin or light skin, people are all the same. Some are ASSHOLES and some are quite rational.

Well here I am, almost two generations down the road and prejudice is quite ensconced "STILL" in the American psyche.

He is a Vietnam veteran who received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with V (Valor) device, 1969 - 1970. I guess he's what Limbaugh would brand a PHONY SOLDIER!
He writes with straightforward feelings of Anger and Sorrow, the sentiments most of us have about the long scourge of the Bush/Cheney/Neocon Administration. Almost 7 years of suffering for most and a devastating downward slide into the abyss for our Nation. I thought when the Dems won the slight majority in 2006... all the negatives Bush and his cabal had unleashed would finally start to turn around and become undone. Blackwater CEO Says He Won't Let Iraqi Government Prosecute

A defiant Blackwater Chairman Erik Prince said yesterday he will not allow Iraqi authorities to arrest his contractors and try them in Iraq's faulty justice system.

"We will not let our people be taken by the Iraqis," Mr. Prince told editors and reporters at The Washington Times. At least 17 of 20 Blackwater guards being investigated for their roles in a Sept. 16 shooting incident are still in a secure compound in Baghdad's Green Zone and carrying out limited duties.

"In an ideal sense, if there was wrongdoing, there could be a trial brought in the Iraqi court system. But that would imply that there is a valid Iraqi court system where Westerners could get a fair trial. That is not the case right now," said Mr. Prince.

The group's Humanitarian Day, which was observed on both Saturday and Sunday this year, brought Muslim volunteers into the streets to provide food, clothing, and medicines to America's poorest,

According to a Census Bureau report released last month, nationwide, more than 36 million people -- or nearly 13 percent of the total U.S. population -- lived in poverty in 2006.

The data reveals continued inequality and concentration of wealth in the United States, with the top 20 percent of households receiving over 50 percent of the nation's income, while the lowest 20 percent got just over 3 percent.

23 million Americans need to look for emergency food assistance every year, about 13 million of whom are children

The infamous aniversary of US' dropping the A-Bomb on Japan. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks during World War II against the Empire of Japan by the United States of America under US President Harry S. Truman. On August 6, 1945, the nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, followed on August 9, 1945 by the detonation of the "Fat Man" nuclear bomb over Nagasaki. They are the only instances of the use of nuclear weapons in warfare.

The United States Department of Energy estimates that, at Hiroshima, the death toll from the immediate blast was roughly 70,000, with additional deaths occuring in the time soon after the explosion and in the decades that followed. The figures for Nagasaki are slightly less. Other estimates vary widely, and are as low as 74,000 for Nagasaki. In both cities, the overwhelming majority of the deaths were civilians.
