The only screwing light bulb joke EVER without humor!

Just to be fair... Here is one about Dems screwing a light bulb:
How many Democrats does it take to change a light bulb?
One to change the bulb, six to talk about how wonderful it's going to be when the new bulb is screwed in, and ten to argue for increased funding for solar lighting research

Clip Source: downwithtyranny.blogspot.com

HOW MANY REPUBLICANS

DOES IT TAKE TO SCREW IN A LIGHT BULB?

1. I wonder what they would be yelling if it had happened to one of them or someone they loved. I watched the tape of the young student more times than I could stand to watch and still I could not see a reason for such a harsh punishment. Some believe we are becoming a police state with all the tasering going on by those who are suppose to protect us. I say, we're not becoming a police state ... WE ARE A POLICE STATE. I hope the American Civil Liberties Union, will get involved in this case it is just so outrageous. No one will want to allow their son or daughter to attend anything political... A closing of the minds of the young who are attending college so their minds can be opened, will be the result. It was a chilling event!

Clip Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

A Shocking Moment for Society: Tasering at University of Florida

Today's news shows a recognizable shock moment in the annals of a closing society. A very ordinary-looking American student -- Andrew Meyer, 21, at the University of Florida - was tasered by police when he asked a question of Senator John Kerry about the impeachment of President George Bush. His arms were pinned and as he tried to keep speaking he was shocked -- in spite of begging not to be hurt. A stunning piece of footage but unfortunately, historically, a very familiar and even tactical moment.

The first 'torture cellars' used by the SA, in Germany

Few German citizens objected because those abused there were seen as 'other'

But then, after this escalation of the use of force was accepted by the
population, students, journalists, opposition leaders, and clergy were similarly
abused

during their own arrests. Jerry Falwell, one of the most despicable abusers of the teachings of Jesus and the earnest faith of religious Christians, a foul, mean-spirited power hungry neanderthal who sought to set back civilization has been called to meet his maker. I have no doubt, he will join the other racists, bigots, homophobes, war mongers, greedy money-grubbing corporatists and holy rolling religious hypocrites he supported, encouraged and empowered.

Falwell made his infamous, and perhaps signature statement after 9/11 on the 700 club, saying, "the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians," as well as liberal advocacy groups were to blame for the attacks, according to Fox news. He later made a weak, non-specific apology. This statement could well be the quote that he is (and should be remembered by.

Tags: bush, politics, religion, hypocrisy

<clipSource>http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_rob_kall_070515_god_to_dead_jerry_fa.htm</clipSource>

Religion promises, YOUR OWN PLANET? Do I ever LUV THIS GUY. He speaks, with humor, how RELICULOUS (ridiculous) the over the top religious nuts are. I believe everyone should be allowed to believe anything they want as long as their beliefs don't get them HOODWINKED by the conniving nutcases in charge of any particular religion... who try to spread their GOD like HE/SHE is a butter knife full of LARD... I use "lard" but I mean another 4 letter word. Life is one BIG mystery and anyone who tells you they know exactly what is going on in HEAVEN or the interstellar space full of interstellar medium is also full of that other 4 letter word. Not quite falling into the statistical poverty class because they may earn a few dollars above the invisible line drawn by economists. Everyday is a challenge for this type of family. Vacations are few, items of luxury don't exist, food is scarce and the roof over their head is always in jeopardy. Because they claw and break their backs to stay slightly above the invisible line... they themselves become invisible. There is an old saying that "The squeaky wheel gets the oil!" and since these people are too damn busy working their tuchus' off, they have no time to squeak until it's too late and they lose their employment or become ill or lose their working partner and then one morning they awaken and find themselves in a freefall under the invisible line quickly heading for the proverbial ROCK-BOTTOM. Like these next two paragraphs in this piece state:

Clip Source: www.thenation.com

The Missing Class

Sociologist Katherine Newman is best known for her richly documented,
fine-grained portraits of the working poor

In books such as No Shame in My Game and Chutes and Ladders, she
has chronicled the experiences of low-wage workers struggling against formidable
odds to lift themselves out of poverty

The Missing Class, written with Victor Tan Chen, Newman has turned her
attention to the travails of the "near poor," a vast pool of workers who are
neither officially destitute nor comfortably middle class.

Who are the "near poor"?

The near poor are people with household incomes between $20,000 and $40,000 a

I don't think the political parties reach out to them very much.

Tags: poor, politics, working poor, missing class, john edwards, the nation

<clipSource>http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070813/press</clipSource>

BUSH'S DEADLY PEN!

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: With another stroke of Bush's deadly pen, he pardoned one of his own lawbreakers.
Once again, Keith Olbermann speaks the words most of who live in the shadows of obscurity cannot. http://www.thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Clip Source: www.youtube.com

Tags: bush, america, political, politics

<clipSource>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZvvyWe_zgY&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fthank%2Dyou%2Dkeith%2Dolbermann%2Eblogspot%2Ecom%2F</clipSource>

VietNam War Language

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: Of all the people who should have learned from history's past mistakes, George W Bush and his henchmen should have learned from Vietnam. HUH?

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: The Fox News or better yet Fox Noise (as Keith Olbermann calls it) is and always has been a joke to me. I use to watch it during the early lead up days to Bush's illegal war against Iraq. Until one day they attempted to demonize Saddam Hussein one step further than they already had with their constant pummeling of HE KILLED HIS OWN PEOPLE http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1779.htm SADDAM HUSSEIN HAD WMD'S POINTED AT AMERICA and of course, when no weapons were found they bludgeoned their viewers with IT WAS AMERICA'S JOB TO LIBERATE IRAQIS FROM A BRUTAL RULER. But that day when I tuned in (for the last time) and saw a pathetic little dog staggering against a wall and the voiceover said SADDAM HUSSEIN CONDUCTED POISON GAS TESTS ON DOGS... I spoke the word I use frequently when I'm in a state of extreme perplexity... HUH? Let's see now, who was this bit of propaganda directed at? Oh, I know it was for those who don't become alarmed at human beings becoming collateral damage

Clip Source: www.alternet.org

Fair and Balanced, My Ass! The Bizarre Reality of Fox News

Watching Fox News can be as funny as it is frustrating. But the new book Fair and Balanced, My Ass! shows we dismiss them at our peril.

But again, by objective measures, Fox does a demonstrably poor job of
presenting the cold, hard facts in a spin-free fashion.

24 percent of the stories on MSNBC's Hardball With Chris Matthews
contained the host's opinion, compared with 97 percent on The O'Reilly
Factor. The report also analyzed coverage of the war in Iraq, finding that
73 percent of Fox's Iraq war stories contained opinion, compared with 2
percent for CNN and 29 percent for MSNBC. Fox was also around twice as
likely as its competitors to run positive stories about the war and far more
likely to run positive stories than negative ones.

Fox not only doesn't admit it, it famously cloaks themselves in a tawdry
veil of objectivity, endlessly shouting their "Fair and Balanced"

until their viewers are finally programmed

Tags: media, fox news, political, politics, thinking

<clipSource>http://www.alternet.org/mediaculture/54228/</clipSource>

Hate From Right-Wing Talk Radio Shows

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: I could never understand why anyone would want to listen to the hateful shows on right-wing talk radio. Especially, those who proclaim that their religion keeps them on the straight and narrow. Listening to the disgusting rhetoric these Shock Jockeys spew forth creates barbarity in those who refuse to think... When minds are so full of the nonsense from the right-wing creeps, who's only objective is to make money and control the masses, they tend to wreck havoc upon the innocent. (case-in-point, the pathetic nut who went on a shooting rampage at the UU church in TN.) We are all in the same boat. We love and want peace so why look upon each other as though we are just pockets of vermin. Haven't we had enough HATE? I guess there are some who would answer NO, because they live for aversion. Here's a little advice for DITTO-HEADS, you can live in peace, it's really quite simple, just turn your damn radios off and have a nice day.

Clip Source: www.youtube.com

The Right-Wing Talk Radio Hate Shows

This video was only a sample of the great Bill Moyers Journal show, Friday

wish you were married, or wish you weren't married, this is something to smile
about the next time you see a bottle of wine:

Sally was driving home
from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly
Navajo woman walking on the side of the road .

As the trip was a long
and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like
a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk
with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at
EVERYTHING she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag
on the seat next to Sally.

"What in bag?" asked the old woman.

Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it

I videotaped the encounter and have posted the 9MB wmv file online so others can experience a suspicionless federal checkpoint for themselves. It can also be accessed from YouTube:

<//EMBED>

It should be noted by those who live far from the border that internal suspicionless checkpoints are quickly becoming the norm while our fundamental right to travel unmolested absent reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing is being routinely trampled on. Keep in mind, this checkpoint did not take place on the border. It took place inside the country over 40 miles North of the border along a regularly traveled State highway that never intersects the border at any point.

Welcome to Checkpoint USA.

Tags: war, on, terror, roadblock

<clipSource>http://checkpointusa.org/blog/index.php/2008/01/09/p79</clipSource>

haji haji haji A GLIMPSE INTO HELL!

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: What if you spoke regularly of "haji food," "haji music" and "haji homes"? HAJI: (MEANING) One who has made a pilgrimage to Mecca.

An article has been written about the macabre, psychotic perspective the people of Iraq and our soldiers are witnessing as the war goes on and on. The whitewashing by the mainstream media makes one believe IT'S NOT SO BAD AS WAR GOES... But as war goes, it is a horrendous nightmare never to be forgotten. I hope Bush and his Neocon cronies will read this report but I know they WILL NOT! Better to delude oneself when a gargantuan mistake such as this war is made. I am sure they, the culprits who created this hellhole must be using all means possible such as, deluding, deceiving and bamboozling themselves (they can no longer do that to us) to save their sanity. Unfortunately our guys on the Iraqi soil and those who were born there have no such means.

Clip Source: www.tomdispatch.com

Tomgram: Dahr Jamail, Iraq Reporter Schizophrenic in Disneyland

What if your speeding convoys ran over civilians often enough that no one

weapons" by their bodies,

What if your buddy got his meal-ready-to-eat standard spoon and asked you to
take a photo of him pretending to scoop the brains out of a dead Iraqi? Or what
if the general attitude among your buddies was: "A dead Iraqi is just another
dead Iraqi.... You know, so what?"

These examples -- and many more like them -- can be found in a remarkable
breaking story in the new issue of the Nation magazine

Chris Hedges and Laila al-Arian interviewed 50 U.S. combat veterans who had been

four-year-old occupation on average Iraqi civilians" (as well as on those
soldiers).

Tags: america, bush, death, political, thinking, war

<clipSource>http://www.tomdispatch.com/</clipSource>
