Sydney, 800 miles S. of Nova Scotia (SatireWire.com) — After what witnesses described as an all night blinder during which it kept droning on about how it was always being bloody ignored by the whole bloody world and would bloody well stand to do something about it, Australia this morning woke up to find itself in the middle of the North Atlantic.

These days, civility and respect on the Internet is a critical and sometimes controversial issue. Every site is free to handle it differently. From a purely personal standpoint, I want to make it clear that one of the main reasons I wanted to create Clipmarks is because a clip can provide a bridge between people to share ideas, learn new things and better understand each other and the world around us. Consistent with that, I see disagreement and differing opinions as a positive, productive thing. But this can only accomplish something good if people treat each other with respect and dignity. With this mind, we will remove any clips or comments that consist of hateful or vulgar language or personal attacks against others.

Pub uses electronic cigarettes to beat the smoking ban

Pubs around the country have reported a decline in custom since the rules came in July last year, but landlord, Chris Giles of the Butler's Arms in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham believes he has found the solution.

The new E.cig smokes like a real cigarette and users get a shot of nicotine every time they inhale.

The device even produces a cloud of water vapour with every puff, though causes no harm to smokers.

The Butlers Arms started selling the fake cigarettes at the weekend after seeing them in a trade magazine.

The makers of the product at The Electronic Cigarette Company say the vapour produced is odourless and contains no tar or carbon monoxide, resulting in no risk of passive smoking.

However the company say the E.cigs are just as addictive as the real thing.

Telemegaphone Dale is a 23-foot-tall wind-powered loudspeaker sculpture that picks up incoming calls and projects them into the nearby surroundings. This Telemegaphone, created by the Swedish designers at Unsworn Industries, is located on a mountain overlooking the village of Dalsfjord in Western Norway. Apparently, a “massive” amount of people have been calling. The sculpture is only “available” when the wind is blowing and the line isn’t busy.

“When you dial the Telemegaphone’s phone number the sound of your voice is projected out across the fjord, the valley and the village of Dale below. No answer? Telemegaphone Dale is wind powered and self-reliant. Recently however, the weather has been exceptionally calm in Dale and there has been a massive amount of people calling.”

BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog's legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the next. BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight.

IF YOU thought you could protect your privacy on the web by lying about your personal details, think again. In online communities at least, entering fake details such as a bogus name or age may no longer prevent others from working out exactly who you are.

New software can identify you from your online habits

That is the spectre raised by new research conducted by Microsoft. The computing giant is developing software that could accurately guess your name, age, gender and potentially even your location, by analysing telltale patterns in your web browsing history. But experts say the idea is a clear threat to privacy - and may be illegal in some places

They are arguably committing offences in a number of countries under a number of different laws
