Film and media studio Squint/Opera has created a series of images depicting imaginary scenes in London in 2090, when rising sea levels have inundated the city.

The general scenario is set 80 or so years into the future, long after the sea levels have risen. The catastrophe side of the sea coming in has long since past and the five images are snapshots of people going about their lives, long since having adapted to the worlds new circumstance.

The scenes shown through light boxes present London as a tranquil utopia

The people in each scene appear to be relaxed and happy in their environment and in the first we see a man who has rowed into St Pauls and is preparing to dive off the ledge of the whispering gallery into the dimly lit ‘swimming pool’.

Another sees the upper reaches of a once famous art gallery where people have collected pre flood artifacts and are rigging them up to get makeshift machinery going to power a light bulb.

The container will travel from Hong Kong to Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, London, Moscow and Paris over the course of two years.

A few weeks ago, the squat, white structure, designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, took shape on a car park rooftop. Word quickly spread that the unusual-looking building would house a major international art show.

As a visual punch line set against the Hong Kong cityscape, Chanel Mobile Art - financed by the French luxury goods company - is irresistible.

One of the most dramatic and impressive pieces in the show is titled "at the bottom" by the Japanese artist Tabaimo. Visitors go up steps to look down a "well" where walls are covered with mysterious, seemingly floating objects, representing the dreams of Chanel customers.

In an anti-establishment movement that’s taking the art world by storm, 6 of the world’s most famous Street Artists whose work is intricately connected to the urban environment were commissioned to paint the iconic river façade of Tate Modern exterior walls with 45 foot (15 meter) high towering artworks for the first major public museum display of Street Art in London.

All 6 artists are represented in major collections around the world and regularly shown in gallery exhibitions but their work began in public urban spaces and remains indebted to Street Art and graffiti traditions.

Memes are not about “communication” or transfer of data. Memes are programming instructions. They are tied to actions. Memes are just the packet on this network. And the packets are usually programs which get installed on the system that accepts them. That system is you and I. Because we are components in a very large system and made up of smaller systems and components the percentage of control we are generally capable of at least at first is really small because we are constrained both by our constituting components and the system of interactions within which we are embedded.

shows how marble statues actually looked in antiquity: covered from head to toe in vibrant paint.

The exhibition corrects a popular misconception,

people generally associate classical art with white marble sculpture. "What you would have seen when you walked through an ancient city, cemetery, or sanctuary," she explains, "would have been colorful sculpture: painted marble, colorful bronze, gold and ivory cult images.

LONDON, Dec. 8 — As contemporary art often does, the giant crack in the floor at the Tate Modern here inspires different responses from different people.

Some might agree with the Tate that the work, Doris Salcedo’s “Shibboleth,” concerns “the divisions between creed, color, class and culture that maintain our social order, precariously balanced as it is on the precipice of a chaotic void of hatred.” Others might feel that, as a visitor named Peter Lord said the other day, “there’s some kind of meaning behind it, although I don’t know what.”

And then there are those who trip on the crack and hurt themselves. The Times of London reported that 15 people suffered minor injuries in the first eight weeks after “Shibboleth” opened in October in the Turbine Hall, Tate Modern’s vast signature space. The newspaper cited museum records it obtained in a search under Britain’s Freedom of Information Act. The work will be on view until April 6.
