Ten years ago, it had become the norm for young adults to leave the country for the UK as soon as they had completed their final year at senior high school. There, they would pluck chickens, tend bar or peel potatoes while experiencing life in the UK and Europe.

Tags: work and study in australia, study in australia, work in australia

<clipSource>http://www.studyinaustralia.com/category/australia/work-in-australia/</clipSource>

Why study English in Australia?

clipped by: stormkid
clipper's remarks: No matter what the reason, the advantages of learning English in Australia are many.

Clip Source: www.studyinaustralia.com

Why study English in Australia?

Australia has an international reputation for its high standard of teaching, along with relatively low living and tuition costs. The eastern US experience more tornadoes at a greater frequency than any other part of the country. Despite this fact many people still fall to nature's fury every year. Could it be that warning systems don't send their warnings early enough? Or are the people too stubborn to move away? Or do they think the tornadoes won't hit them? In any case, whenever there's a tornado warning people should really get moving right away. If you think the warning systems aren't fast enough for you, you can always check the whether yourself. Unusually, this video was taken not by storm chasers; rather, it was a local sheriff that captured the rampaging monster on video. More unusual, despite there being heavy storms for days in a row preceding the tornado, a few days right before it was a period of absolute peace in terms of weather activities. Observe about 6 minutes into the video, the giant tornado picks up a truck and hurls it across like a toy! See if you can find it amidst the debris. This is almost the exact opposite of the tornado from Mulvane: the former had a perfect shape, was white, and caused some destruction. This one is black and looks like a spinning blob, and hardly damaged anything. It received an F1 rating; however, this is because it stayed mostly on the plains and hardly damaged anything. Had it crossed a town it looks like it could have been at least an F3. The black color is largely due to the fresh mud and silt that it sucked up while travelling across the plains. It first developed from a tropical wave that moved across the Atlantic. It formed into a tropical depression, strengthened into a tropical storm, and finally reaching its peak as a Category 4. It made landfall in Cuba with a wind speed of 140 mph and brought torrential rains across Central America, killing 17 people and massive destruction. The damage amounted to $2.33 billion dollars in total, spread over 7 regions. This video shows the storm in Bahamas. The eye passes over Nassau and can be seen in this video. After a short bit of calm the storm rages again. This clip shows action on both regions: first is from Puerto Rico, where David just passed south of the island on August 30. Second is in Palm Beach, Florida, where David made landfall on September 3. While still in Puerto Rico, David was a Category 4 hurricane, almost becoming a Category 5. But when it reached Florida, David was just a Category Two, with sustained winds of up to 105 mph. Hurricane David was one of the biggest disasters ever, killing way beyond 2,000 people and costing $4.4 billion in damages. It gives a bit of an insight on what goes on in the minds of people who go after storms, and why they enjoy doing it. It also features some great hurricane shots, mainly featuring Tropical Storm Barry in Florida. The height of Barry's strength was 80 mph gusts, and its winds were only at 65 mph but it's more than enough to make anyone feel unsafe--just look at how it rocked that minivan! This kind of thrill however is what motivates storm chasers and gives them their rush. This video just truly proves it. What do you think happens when more common vehicles like cars are struck by lightning? Even if the car itself survives, there's a high possibility that its passengers would be fried. However, watch this airplane get struck by lightning. It doesn't even flinch! In fact, every commercial airplane is struck by lightning at least once a year. And yet there have been no reported lightning-related airplane incidents. Airplanes are built to withstand this kind of weather force. So they truly are the safest means to travel. However, it's still wise to not travel at all during violent storms. This happened in a schoolyard in Japan where children are playing soccer. Then all of a sudden the dust devil appears that, apart from ruining their game, also sucked up a tent and threw it 30 meters across before dissipating. The students and teachers ducked when the dust devil approached them, which isn't really the best thing to do. At least the children seemed like they were having more fun!
