Following are excerpts from NASA's official pre-flight interview for STS-107 that demonstrate how Husband and Anderson felt about their faith:

Rick Husband: Well, I think apart from NASA, the most enjoyable part of my life has been my time with my family. And, if you think about, probably the pinnacle or the most exciting or memorable events, I would say probably my marriage and then the birth of our two children, and being there with my wife, and just the awesome experience of seeing a baby come into the world. And just being so overwhelmed with God's goodness in blessing us with two wonderful children.

And as you look back at your life, there are just a million different things that have happened, just in the right way, to allow you to make your dreams come true. And you know, someone has all that under control.

But it's really the people that you don't think about every day that influence you

Todd Beamer will always be remembered as a national hero.

The flight was the only one that did not hit a target. Instead, it crashed in rural Pennsylvania.

"To the world they were ordinary [but] they figured out how to do extraordinary things. … to overcome the worst adversity I could ever imagine," Beamer's wife, Lisa, told Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. Lisa Beamer, also 32, is expecting the couple's third child in January. Lisa Beamer says faith and family were always her husband's priorities.

"He's one of the few people that I just look up to," Caterson says. "Both of them are rock steady in the faith and grounded in the Word."

It was during this time that Florence gained the nickname 'The Lady of the Lamp' because she was continually checking all parts of the hospital day and night and at night she needed the lamp. In 1855 Queen Victoria wrote to Florence to thank her for all that she had done.

When Florence was sixteen years old her life was changed. God spoke to her and told her that she had a task that He wanted her to do. Whatever anyone would think of such an event, it was real to Florence. She now knew that her life had a purpose, and that whatever would happen would be in God's will and timing.

Florence then wanted to serve as a nurse in a local hospital. Nurses had a very different role at that time and were no more than cleaners. Even maids and servants looked down on them. Her father refused to allow Florence to go to the hospital.

In a letter Florence wrote 'We have four miles of beds eighteen inches apart'.

In 1907 Florence Nightingale, now blind, received the Order of Merit award.
