Where Are the Modern Mahatmas?

I asked the Theosophists if there were any modern mahatmas? At first there was silence. So I continued, “Do any Theosophists receive letters or messages from the masters? Or maybe, nowadays, emails?” Then one replied, “If someone was to receive a letter from a master today, there is no motivation to tell others.” In fact, this person went on to note, if someone claimed messages from mahatmas, they would probably be called crazy. I asked if they still considered the old Mahatma letters valid and true. They do find the letters valid and still study them, but the transmission from the masters has ended.

I found this honest assessment revealing. Here are people clinging to the revelations of the past, but closed to revelations in the present.

Today, because of the influence of science and other societal structures, many of the early ways of investigating the hidden world have been determined as invalid and excluded. These formerly accepted practices, such as astrology, have been determined to be worthless, or at most, for occasional amusement and not anything to be taken seriously. Those still searching for the occult side of things do not always agree and still give validity to such techniques. Other times the technique or practice transforms, such as alchemy. It evolved into modern chemistry on one hand, and symbolic alchemy on another; the latter being employed by magicians mapping certain processes and Jungian psychologists. Regardless of the technique, the salient point remains, there are hidden forces at work in the world around us and in us and occultism is the process by which these processes are investigated and exposed.

Alan R. Miller Scottsdale, AZ--Alan Miller, Ph.D., into eternity at 9:09 AM, February 9, 2008, after a heroic battle with cancer.

He was best known as an accomplished writer; writing under the pen name Christopher Hyatt, Ph.D. He authored well over 70 books, many of which pertained to the "Occult" and "Magick." His interest in the occult began in his early twenties. His desire to further pursue his studies in magick resulted in meeting Israel Regardie in the 1970s. Regardie introduced him to Reichian therapy, which he insisted Alan learn prior to any magickal pursuits. Regardie further instructed Alan in the magickal system of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

Watch Out, People- Here Comes the Sun

I've noticed recently that a remarkable number of logos for consumer goods and the like have taken on Solar imagery as of late, often that of a rising Sun. I'm not quite exactly sure why, but I am 100% sure that these changes are not made lightly or casually by any stretch of the imagination. Consultants and design firms are paid millions to re-brand products in this fashion, and corporate executives are extremely concerned with what messages their trademarks project into the world. But my familiarity with this type of symbolism puts it in a bit of a different light than it might for Joe or Jane Q Public.

Logos in the left column are the old, and those in the right are the new, sunnier revisions...

British Petroleum is a late-comer to Solar symbology in the petrochemical world, since companies like Shell, Sunoco, Mobil and Citgo have had Sun-themed logos for decades now.

The minds at work on the great consciousness project at this moment are alive during this time not by accident. They are all Surfing the Tao though they may not be aware of it. We are all giving what we have, and taking what we need, in some kind of post-modern, spirit-driven, psychedelic communistic mind trip, hastened by our collective visions of 2012 and beyond. Hagerty calles it entheospace; I might describe the sensation as a sort of dreamstate, finding oneself floating down a river of consciousness, gently colliding with others riding down the same stream in a kind of synchronistic, fractal pattern of atunement, as we all slip closer to the great sea.

As it acts in the world, the Tao

The automatic writings of Jung

Carl Gustav Jung is notorious for being more “liberal” in his psychology than his friend Freud. But what is less known, is that Jung was more of an alchemist and Gnostic, then a psychotherapist.

Jung believed that the cosmos contained the divine light or life, but this essence was enmeshed in a mechanical trap, presided over by a demiurge: Lucifer, the Bringer of the Light. He contained the light inside this reality, until a time when it would be set free. The first operation of alchemy therefore addressed itself to the dismemberment of this confining structure and reducing it to a condition of creative chaos. From this, in the process of transformation, the true, creative binaries emerge and begin their interaction designed to bring about the alchemical union. In this ultimate union, says Jung, the previously confined light is redeemed and brought to the point of its ultimate and redemptive fulfilment.

In essence, he was the father of the New Age

The "Flower of Life" can be found in all major religions of the world.
It contains the patterns of creation as they emerged from the "Great Void". Everything is made from the Creator's thought.
After the creation of the Seed of Life the same vortex's motion was continued, creating the next structure known as the Egg of Life.
This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music. It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). Thus this same structure as it is further developed, creates the human body and all of the energy systems including the ones used to create the Merkaba. If we continue creating more and more spheres we will end up with the structure called the Flower of Life.

I am wondering if you read Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code,” which some critics see as the pop version of your “Name of the Rose.” I was obliged to read it because everybody was asking me about it. My answer is that Dan Brown is one of the characters in my novel, “Foucault’s Pendulum,” which is about people who start believing in occult stuff.

But you yourself seem interested in the kabbalah, alchemy and other occult practices explored in the novel. No, in “Foucault’s Pendulum” I wrote the grotesque representation of these kind of people. So Dan Brown is one of my creatures.

This morning our purpose is to analyze certain aspects of the human mind in connection with the mysterious case of the Flying Saucers.

The device in all probability is some highly specialized scientific structure intended to advance research. The device itself may not be the project, but some means of testing for something else, but whether it is a means to an end, or is the end itself, it is almost certainly humanly guided, humanly devised, and is being advanced in the unfoldment of necessary research into the great and powerful potentials of the planet. Beyond that I think we shall simply have to wait until Uncle Sam decides to talk, and anyone who talks before that would be doing every one concerned a great unkindness.
