A 10-year-old boy was subjected to physical abuse amounting to torture for 2.5 hours by Israeli soldiers who stormed his family’s shop on 11 June, seeking information on the location of a handgun. The boy was repeatedly beaten, slapped and punched in the head and stomach, forced to hold a stress position for half and hour, and threatened. He was deeply shocked and lost two molar teeth as a result of the assault.

Clip Source: www.appletreeblog.com

Clip Source: sabbah.biz

Clip Source: www.dci-pal.org

case, 14-year-old Mohammad E.

Tags: israel, torture, children, prisoners

<clipSource>http://www.dci-pal.org/english/display.cfm?DocId=798&CategoryId=1</clipSource>

Abu Ghraib Detainees Sue USA Contractors

clipped by: righthand
clipper's remarks: How Much for these Photos? Disruption!

clipped by: righthand
clipper's remarks: Willie has 'balls'. Few would publicly crisis the disruptive Bush. Doesn't he know that the grinning George is responsible for the torture of more humans than all Americans to date?

Does he think that being Irish makes him immune to waterboarding. Surely as a aircraft man he knows of 'extraordinary rendition' where you are on permanent tour of the best torture prisons on earth. Even Shannon seems to be on the CIA itinerary according to Amnesty.

And your personal politics or none is no disbarment. From Israel, to Egypt, to Iran, to Russia, to Africa, to Cuba, to Abu Ghraib, to Bagram, all are catered for. Fear of flying is sorted with drugs and huds, in best gangster fashion.

There are no numbers yet on 'lost in flight' customers, but getting there. After all, this was a favourite method of disposal for the US trained South American juntas. "Lost at sea" is permanent and 'clean'.

Clip Source: www.guardian.co.uk

British Airways boss slams BAA over George Bush flights

British Airways has slammed Heathrow owner BAA for allowing George Bush to fly into the UK's biggest airport, forcing the cancellation of at least 69 flights and disrupting the travel plans of 40,000 passengers.

Willie Walsh, BA chief executive, said he was "angry" that the presidential entourage, which included two Boeing 747 jets and four helicopters, caused chaos 10 days ago as runways were closed and planes were grounded. The two-star general who led an Army investigation into the horrific detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib has accused the Bush administration of war crimes and is calling for accountability.

In his 2004 report on Abu Ghraib, then-Major General Anthony Taguba concluded that "numerous incidents of sadistic, blatant, and wanton criminal abuses were inflicted on several detainees." He called the abuse "systemic and illegal." And, as Seymour M. Hersh reported in the New Yorker, he was rewarded for his honesty by being forced into retirement.

Now, in a preface to a Physicians for Human Rights report based on medical examinations of former detainees, Taguba adds an epilogue to his own investigation.

he writes, "tells the largely untold human story of what happened to detainees in our custody when the Commander-in-Chief and those under him authorized a systematic regime of torture.

Tags: war crimes, bush, cheney, iraq war, torture

<clipSource>http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2008/06/18/BL2008061801546.html</clipSource>

Senate: Pentagon 'was warned over interrogation methods'

clipped by: In fact, as one can see the pattern from the story, the Palestinian man who stayed behind with the dying man is the only one in an Israeli torture center (which they call a jail). The world continues sitting by and is obliged to not notice something amiss in the State of Justice.

Clip Source: electronicintifada.net

one of the Israeli men kneeling to take aim at them, followed by a single shot without warning

Rashad Khader called at the settler not to fire, but was answered by a barrage of bullets

The Palestinians turned to flee, but three bullets hit Khader in the back

The man who had remained with Khader was arrested by Israeli occupying forces, who had also arrived on the scene, and is currently in detention in Ofar prison near Ramallah, without charge.

The Israeli settlers have admitted to the killing of Rashad Khader, claiming that they were fired upon by the group of Palestinians, and fired back in response. Sworn affidavits collected from eyewitnesses indicate that the Palestinians did not fire at the settlers, nor were they in possession of anything more than a pair of simple bird-hunting rifles. Furthermore, the fact that the victim was repeatedly shot from behind indicates the lack of threat he presented, as well as the settler's intent to kill

Tags: israel, cold blooded murder, settlers, illegal

<clipSource>http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article9550.shtml</clipSource>

Palestine: A Letter to the Peace Movement

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: Thousands of Palestinians are imprisoned in Israeli detention centers where there is reported use of torture. People die at Israeli checkpoints because they cannot get to medical facilities. Palestinians are being denied water, food and medical supplies. Palestinians have to endure continual attacks by jets, helicopters and drones used for assassinations (which are illegal by international law) that also kill many civilians. According to Chris Hedges (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19127.htm), since 2000, 1033 Israelis have died and 4,437 Palestinian have died from this conflict. 119 of these deaths were Israeli children and 971 have been Palestinian children. All these deaths are a waste of life, but these numbers also show that the fault is not equal between the Israelis and Palestinians.

The fault lies with the aggressor and the occupier. When people live under a brutal occupation, have their lands stolen, their houses destroyed, orchards wiped out by bulldozers

Clip Source: www.greenparty.org

The peace movement cannot be concerned only with the war in Iraq. We
have to look at the bigger picture of all wars to determine what’s
going wrong in our country. This is especially true in regards to
Palestine.

Many in the peace movement believe that the use of violence is
proportionately equal between Palestinians and Israelis and that both
sides are equally responsible for the bloodshed. This is not true. This
is not an equal situation. Israel is one of the wealthiest countries in
the world. Gaza is one of the poorest and with one of the highest
population densities in the world. Israel has the fourth strongest army
in the world with a large arsenal of nuclear weapons, while the
Palestinians have rifles, home-made rockets, and people willing to be
used as suicide bombers.

It is reported that over the last six years, 12 Israelis have been
killed by the rocket attacks.

But this does not compare to the thousands
upon thousands of Palestinian deaths

<clipSource>http://www.greenparty.org/Palestine_Letter.php</clipSource>

Before & Now!
