Let alone how she would possibly step in, if needed, for the President, in a nation still at war. Take a deep look at McCain's judgment here. What a reckless, foolishly political nomination this is for the nation!
And compare her credentials to Joe Biden's . . .

Clip Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

If voters weren't frightened of a trigger-happy, impulsive McCain before, then they sure had better be now.

McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice President displays near-reckless judgment.

She's a small-town gal without credentials who will be one heartbeat away from the U.S. presidency. Not technically. Look at what she wrote again. She only says her decision is "based on a comprehensive review of wildlife experts." She doesn't say it's based on agreeing with anything they said. The ice they hunt and mate on is melting and they'll fall in the water and drown.

In other words, the Feds are right. Moreover, his unique physique reduces drag through the water and allows for maximum propulsion.
* Phelps has a greater-than-average lung capacity allowing him to execute his underwater dolphin kicks longer than the competition.
* He has a genetic advantage that cause his muscles to produce 50% less lactic acid than other athletes. This means he can work at higher work loads for longer periods.
* With a low body fat of 4%, he is better able to convert his effort into speed.

Looking at this list it’s as if Phelps was designed to swim.

Which leads to an interesting question: Given the potential for genetic modification and gene doping, should it be acceptable for other athletes to acquire the same physiological endowments through artificial means?

If not, what makes it so acceptable to come by these traits ‘naturally?’ And how

Clip Source: ieet.org

Watching Michael Phelps swim you quickly realize that he’s not like the others. He’s clearly in a league of his own.

Or more accurately, he’s swimming in a genetic pool of his own. Phelps has a number of fortuitous physical endowments that have enabled him to dominate like no other. Simply put, he is the perfect swimmer.

Here’s what Phelps has going for him:

Most people have a wingspan that matches their height. Not Phelps. He may be 6’4” tall, but his arms extend outward to a total of 6’7”.

The average shoe size for a person the size of Phelps is 12; he wears a size 14 which gives him a 10% advantage over the competition.

He also has a larger than average hand size which allows him to move more water.

Phelps is double-jointed in the chest area; this enables him to extend his arms higher above his head and pull down at an angle that increases his efficiency through the water by as much as 20%; this also allows him to have quicker starts and turns.

Tags: natural, transhuman

<clipSource>http://ieet.org/index.php/IEET/more/2575/</clipSource>

Dogs Can Read Their Owner's Minds...

clipped by: mugofcoffee

Clip Source: articles.mercola.com

The bond between man and dog is the stuff that legends are made of. The head, right arm and lower legs of a huge statue of Roman emperor Marcus
Aurelius have been uncovered by archaeologists in the ancient city of
 Sagalassos in Turkey.

The 15-foot statue was originally located in the frigidarium, the coldest and
largest room in the Roman baths at Sagalassos

Archaeologists now believe the frigidarium contained a gallery of large
imperial statues running around its long walls, offering a treasure trove of

"The U.S. intelligence community buckled sooner in 2002 than previously reported to Bush administration pressure for data justifying an invasion of Iraq,

"The documents suggest that the public relations push for war came before the intelligence analysis, which then conformed to public positions taken by Pentagon and White House officials. For example, a July 2002 draft of the "White Paper" ultimately issued by the CIA in October 2002 actually pre-dated the National Intelligence Estimate that the paper purportedly summarized, but which Congress did not insist on until September 2002." National Security Archive in "Scoop' Independent News, August 24, 2008.

4.0 million Iraqis are "displaced

ten percent of Iraq

dead or injured

5.0 million

orphan

Tags: bush, war, iraq

<clipSource>http://www.opednews.com/articles/1/White-Paper-Justifying-Ira-by-Michael-Collins-080825-667.html</clipSource>

GOP Convention Schedule Leaked!

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: 11:00 pm – President Bush performs his hilarious comedy routine where he looks for Iraq's fictitious WMD's under guests tables.

11:15 pm – Governor Mike Huckabee does his famous uncanny imitation of Gomer Pyle.

11:20 pm – Group intervention to get Rush Limbaugh back into drug rehab

11: 45 pm – Go up on rooftop and throw rocks down at homeless vets sleeping in alley.

12:00 am – Live satellite feed from Federal Prison – California Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham

12:20 am – Convicted felon/Fox News analyst G.
