Accelerated orthodontics is gaining popularity as a way for patients, particularly adults with mature bones, to speed up the time it takes to straighten misaligned bites and fix crowded teeth.

The cost for accelerated orthodontics typically ranges from $10,000 to $15,000, depending on the course of treatment.

However, he added, the benefits were impressive: In eight months, Chang’s overbite and crowded teeth were a thing of the past.

“It would have taken about two years to do this with traditional orthodontics,” Chang said.

Hedviga Golik made herself a cup of tea and sat down to watch some television in her home town of Zagreb, Croatia. Sadly, she died in her chair. This was in 1966. She was just found, 42 years later, in her time capsule mausoleum where she's been sitting ever since. She never finished her tea.

What's absurd is that she was in fact reported missing, but somehow no one ever checked her apartment

Electoral thunderbolt for Nepal

Nepal has been rocked by an electoral thunderbolt.

As the Maoists surge towards victory in the elections to a constitutional assembly, even some of their leaders have expressed surprise at its apparent scale.

There is another factor, too. Atrocities during the Maoist insurgency were committed by both sides, but in terms of numbers the state killed more people than the Maoists.

Village schoolteachers were often abducted and killed. The Maoist teacher-training curriculum, witnessed at first hand by the BBC in 2005, included the life of Prachanda and an alphabet of grenades and guns for six-year-olds.

Nepalis do seem to have faith in the democratic process. The new assembly will have a two-year term and some voters have said they will kick the Maoists out of government if they disappoint.

Baburam Bhattarai, has said he expects the monarchy to be abolished within weeks and the Royal Palace to become a museum.
