Tags: apple, mac, eppol, lastmac

<clipSource>http://macadictos.es/2007/04/04/twitter-de-mac/</clipSource>

Twitter, MiniBlog

clipped by: philapple

Clip Source: www.ft.com

Silicon Valley is abuzz over a new mini-blogging service for mobile phones that some predict will be a mass-market hit with the reach of a YouTube or MySpace.

Over the past two weeks, Twitter has attracted the sort of hyperbole the Valley reserves for its next internet darling – though such self-reinforcing adulation also led to dotcom mania.

The internet has “become so consumerised that social phenomena can take off like lightning”, he said. Warning against the temptation to reject Twitter as a flash in the pan, Mr Schwartz added: “YouTube was funny until it was worth $1.65bn to someone,” a reference to Google’s purchase of the company last year.

“This is the first application that people have got excited about since Flickr came out,” said Ross Mayfield, a Valley entrepreneur, comparing it to a popular photo-sharing site bought by Yahoo in 2005. “I don’t think it will be the next YouTube – but I do think it will gain wide adoption,” he said.

Tags: twitter, internet

<clipSource>http://www.ft.com/cms/s/d0ccbc46-daf7-11db-ba4d-000b5df10621.html</clipSource>

Le alternative al blog

clipped by: philapple
clipper's remarks: Twitter e Tumblr

Clip Source: blog.mrees.biz

Traditional blog entries usually run to at least a paragraph or two. Composing them usually take ten minutes of your time at least as a good entry will also contain a link or two for the readers (and the blog author at a later date) to follow. That leaves a quandrary about what to do with much smaller fragments of information, maybe just a useful link with some comments (not useful for your del.icio.us collection), an image (not worth putting on Flickr) or video (can’t be bothered with YouTube) or just a smidgin of text. Well www.tumblr.com is the place for you. Such a micro blog or bloglet quickly allows a copy and paste with some explanatory text to be ‘blogged’ in one place for sharing with others.

Another bloglet that is getting traction is www.twitter.com that is only text based. It is a matter of a moment to type in a few words of text on the site and create a journal of your current activity

Tags: blog, blogger, internet, web

<clipSource>http://blog.mrees.biz/myblog/?p=167</clipSource>

Alcune idee su come usare Twitter

clipped by: philapple
clipper's remarks: Some ideas

Clip Source: www.davidleeking.com

staying in touch with geek friends and colleagues

Using private messages - then it’s really about staying in touch with true friends and family (that is, if your friends and family sms and IM frequently)

keeping up-to-date with emerging tools (remember - Flickr started out as a silly web photography game, not the amazing social tool it’s turned into)

News updates - CNN and BBC both have twitter feeds (ooh - a library use!)

Following the thought processes of emerging tech trend thinkers.

when interviewing someone for a job, check to see if they twitter - then check their twitter feed just like you’d google them and check their blog (if they had one)

Check out a potential colleague’s twitter feed to see if you’d personally like them or not

twitter as a personal note bucket - send yourself random thoughts that you don’t want to lose.

Tags: twitter, internet, web

<clipSource>http://www.edupodcast.it/index.php/2007/03/07/twitter-didattica-ed-everywhere-messaging/</clipSource>
