Tiny, simple and usually ignored, these logos contain the very essence of the candidates, distilled into their purest form. In these logos we view their souls.

Overwrought? yes; but they are still our subject, mainly because it’ll be fast and easy to do. So! Onward and upwards!

Clip Source: prezzish.com

It looks sort of like a sunrise over a recently plowed field; an image that harkens back to Reagan’s “Morning in America” campaign from ’84

what the American flag would have been if we only ever had three states

star of the Democratic Party, a shining beacon with an environmental streak, a comet whose orbit has brought it back to us, a signal of good fortune. Charter and in violation of international law. This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949."

Impeach! Can we impeach Pelosi also?
She is an accessory after the fact, maybe even more.

Clip Source: www.michaelmoore.com

(CBS) The former Democratic nominee for president who ran against a president later driven from office under threat of impeachment, today said that impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney is "the rightful course for an American patriot."

McGovern also called the case for impeaching Mr. Bush and Cheney "far stronger" than what was the case against President Nixon and Vice President Spiro T. Agnew after the 1972 election.

At a presidential campaign appearance last Sunday in California, Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich said he's considering introducing a new impeachment resolution against President Bush in light of statements the president has made that Kucinich interprets as a prelude to war with Iran.

"It's not funny at all. It is clear, as was beautifully laid out in an article published by Glenn Greenwald in Salon magazine on July 15, that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the rest of the Democratic Party leadership both in Congress and in the party organization, have been blocking any action on impeachment for fear of having their own complicity in Bush’s and Cheney’s crimes revealed. As Greenwald notes, the Washington Post has reported that Pelosi, along with Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) were briefed on the administration’s use of torture and not only didn’t object, but actively encouraged it. Rockefeller and Harman, who at the time were minority leaders of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees at the time, were also briefed about Bush’s order to the National Security Agency to conduct warrantless spying on Americans. They didn’t object or publicly expose this blatant violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance A

Clip Source: www.commondreams.org

There are two ways to view the news that the House Judiciary Committee will be holding a hearing on impeachable crimes by President George W. Bush.

One view would be that this is all a charade and that after all, it will not be a real impeachment hearing, but rather, simply a hearing into the impeachable crimes of the Bush administration. As committee Chair Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) put it, “We’re not doing impeachment, but he [Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who introduced 36 articles of impeachment] can talk about it.” Viewed that way, this is not such a big deal. Rep. Kucinich gets to make his case that the president is committing high crimes and misdemeanors and abuses of power and war crimes, but then Congressional Democrats will continue to ignore all the crimes as it has done since taking control of Congress in November 2006.

a second way to view this is as a significant victory over the quisling Congressional leadership, which has been ducking its responsibility

<clipSource>http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/07/12/10422/</clipSource>

Someone is listening - Impeach

clipped by: kkcapricorn
clipper's remarks:
We've waited seven years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died," Fertik said. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who introduced legislation last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, is now aiming higher.

On the House floor this evening, the Ohio Democrat proposed impeaching President Bush. In language similar to that in the articles of impeachment he raised against Cheney, Kucinich sought support for a 35-count indictment charging Bush with misleading Congress and the American people into war with tales of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Democratic House leaders have opposed impeaching Bush or Cheney as an unhelpful distraction. They were nearly embarrassed last year when Republicans voted to take up Kucinich's effort against Cheney in order to force a debate; they are unlikely to let the matter get so far this time

Bob Fertik, president of Democrats.com, one of the groups pushing for impeachment congratulated Kucinich on his "historic leadership

Tags: kucinich.impeach

<clipSource>http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/latestnews/index.php?id=11636</clipSource>

Anti-War demonstrators march

clipped by: kkcapricorn
clipper's remarks: Way to Go!

Clip Source: www.michaelmoore.com

Energized by speeches from peace activist Cindy Sheehan and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, among others, more than 1,000 protesters marched through Kennebunkport to the Bush family compound early Saturday afternoon.

Kucinich, D-Ohio, told the crowd: "We simply have to get out of Iraq. We have to end this war."

Following the rally, an orderly but noisy crowd marched through town pounding drums, chanting slogans and waving.

The peace rally, which started at 10 a.m. at Consolidated School in town, featured musical performances and a number of speakers.

Despite Saturday’s hot, muggy weather, the crowd was cheerful and slogans were plentiful on T-shirts and hats, signs and banners, from "Don't Pay for this War" to "Care for Vets" to "Global Warming is Not Cool" to calls for impeachment.
