The truth is that he was never the target. Assassination would not have produced occupation. It would have save 4,000+ US lives but we have learnt that these didn't matter either. The out of sight, out of mind, no presidential presence at funerals worked for AWOL Bush. However the broken in mind and body will not go away so easily. Until they are swamped by the next lot.

Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car

The President of the United States is given a free pass to ignore the Constitution, tap our phones, and lead us to war on a pack of lies. Congress responds to record deficits by passing a huge tax cut for the wealthy (thanks, but I don't need it). The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're fiddling in Iraq, the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving pom-poms instead of asking hard questions.

That's not the promise of America my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for

Millions of bees buzz Canada's main highway

ST. LEONARD, Canada (AP) -- Twelve million honey bees have been released onto Canada's largest highway in northwest New Brunswick after a transport truck overturned.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday that a truck carrying 330 crates of bees was traveling on a ramp on the highway when the load shifted and the truck overturned shortly after 1000 GMT.

Police said a downpour of rain has helped to contain the bees in and around the truck.

Bee experts from Agriculture Canada were called in to help deal with the accident.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Lieberman Warns of a 9/11 in 2009 for McCain

clipper's remarks: Islamo propaganda from this Israeli-neoconservative democrat. Is it not more evident just who was behind 9/11 and the absolutely unproven claims that "Islamic extremists"--i.e. bin Laden who denied it, and 19 Muslims, half of which were proven alive afterward--did it?

Who benefits from 9/11 and this propaganda more than Israel and the neoconservative agenda for a new middle east? We know who would be behind it if another occurs, the same behind the first one. For Lieberman to "predict" this demonstrates inside knowledge (if it happens) and a clear motive on his part for even desiring it to push the war agenda.

Lieberman's argument is also entirely irrational. If Islamic extremists want the U.S. out of the middle east and wars halted, they would do nothing at all. There has been nothing prohibiting repeated terrorism if those blamed for 9/11 were true and Al Qaeda was not in Iraq.

Motive, means, and opportunity point to the real perpetrators per criminology 101.

(CBS) In describing the reasons he believes the Republicans' presumptive nominee for president would be better prepared than the Democrats' to lead the nation next January, Sen. Joe Lieberman said that history shows the United States would likely face a terrorist attack in 2009.

"Our enemies will test the new president early," Lieberman, I-Conn., told Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer. "Remember that the truck bombing of the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration."

Lieberman nonetheless distanced himself from remarks by McCain chief strategist Charlie Black, who came under criticism for suggesting in an interview that McCain's election chances would be improved if a terrorist attack occurred before November.

When you hear the term "Swiftboat" what comes into your mind?

I already know your answer, but it isn't the meaning for those who served on nor any Navy Personal who served In-Country Vietnam.

Not to far back a small group of misguided Navy personal, who served aboard 'Swiftboats' in 'Nam, took that once proud name and used it for their political purposes and gains, with some others joining them, who not only never served on swiftboats, and the extremely dangerous missions they were sent into, but some never served at all, in the Military nor In War/Occupations!

They not only Disgraced their own service but the service of all who served on Swiftboats as well as All of us Navy personal who served In-Country as well as the Blue - Water Navy serving off the shores of 'Nam. Foreign policy is an area that falls completely within the purview of the Executive Branch. It would be completely inappropriate for a soldier to "campaign" for one of the candidates because that candidate is less interventionist or more interventionist.

We all know about Admiral Mullens recent attempt to silence the troops.

"It is a highly political time right now," he told officials who work with the Joint Chiefs. "I am anxious to make sure everyone in uniform stays out of the politics."

I would like to explain why I believe that he is badly mistaken.

First, let me enter the arena where the spirit of his comment should come into play with regards to members of the uniformed services.

There are some soldiers that are adamantly pro-life and there are some that completely disagree. Being pro-life has no bearing on the ability of soldier to do their job. It would be completely inappropriate for a soldier to "campaign" for one of the candidates because that candidate is pro-life or pro-choice.

But isn’t a human’s level of sadness basically a number, too, just a number of the amounts of various neurochemicals circulating in the brain? Why should a robot’s numbers be any less authentic than a human’s?

Penguin populations falling steeply

Like the proverbial canary in the coal mine, penguins are sounding the alarm for potentially catastrophic changes in the world’s oceans, a University of Washington biologist says.

The culprits are global warming, oil pollution, depletion of fisheries and rampant coastline development, which threaten breeding habitats for many penguin species, she argues.

These factors are behind rapid population declines among the birds, said the university’s Dee Boersma, an authority on penguins.

“Penguins are among those species that show us that we are making fundamental changes to our world,” she said. “The fate of all species is to go extinct, but there are some species that go extinct before their time and we are facing that possibility with some penguins.”

there are 16 to 19 penguin species, and most penguins are at 43 sites, virtually all in the Southern Hemisphere.
