Pig holds woman hostage

A pig in Australia turned on a woman and effectively held her hostage - after she tried to help it.

The creature in New South Wales held 63-year-old Caroline Hayes captive, refusing to let her leave the house with its aggressive behavior.

Local animal officials say the animal weighed almost 180 pounds.

Hayes said the pig started head-butting the door looking for food after she and some neighbors had begun feeding it.

She says the pig pushed her door and actually bit a broomstick in half when she tried to use it to poke the pig.

Hayes says she was amazed at the pig's strength.

The pig, who has been named Bruce, has now been caught and was sent to a local piggery where he may even be given stud duties to perform.

A mother took her daughter to the doctor and asked him to give her an examination to determine the cause of the daughter's swollen abdomen.

It only took the doctor about two seconds to say, "Gimme a break, lady! Your daughter is pregnant!"

The mother turn red with fury, and she argued with the doctor that *her* daughter was a good girl, and would *never* compromise her reputation by having sex with a boy.

The doctor faced the window and silently watched the horizon.

The mother became enraged and screamed, "Quit looking out the window! Aren't you paying attention to me?"

"Yes, of course I am paying attention, ma'am. It's just that the last time this happened, a star appeared in the east, and three wise men came. I was hoping they'd show up again, and help me figure out who got your daughter pregnant!"

Located in the fertile Gangetic plains of Madhya Pradesh, the sprawling Khajuraho temple complex is a fascinating monument to the sanctity of human sexuality. The central theme of the temples is the celebration of womankind, her form, for her beauty and her temperament.

The complex, built by the Chandela rulers between 950 and 1050, is a one of the finest example of Indo-Aryan architecture. It was built during a period of peace and prosperity, where creativity flourished under royal patronage. The Chandelas commissioned 85 temples, but only 22 are remaining today.

Khajuraho, or Khajur-vahika, derives its name from the golden date palms (khajur) that ones adorned the gate of the great city. The engravings were not built merely for aesthetic value, as they also served to teach young virgins all they needed to know about sexuality.

Almonds boost weight loss

If you're searching for a snack food that can help you lose weight and gain health, almonds are an excellent choice. For years, many dieters have shied away from nuts, largely because of their high fat and calorie content.

Lead investigator Michelle Wien, Dr.P.H., R.D., found that when she asked volunteers to include raw or roasted almonds in their calorie-restricted diets, their weight-loss efforts were dramatically accelerated.

The study included 65 overweight and obese adults who were placed on one of two diets designed to promote weight loss. The caloric value and protein content of the two diets were equivalent, but only one included a 3-ounce serving of almonds daily.

After 24 weeks, the two groups showed a striking difference in their weight-loss patterns. The almond-eating group lost 62 percent more weight and 56 percent more body fat than the nut-free group. The almond-eaters also experienced significantly greater reductions in waist circumference and blood pressure.
