What's it to you? Well, if you or someone you know is or was a former resident of the Golden State (or had any kind of business dealings, whether you knew it or not), some of that big pile of California missing money could very well be yours!

The total dollar amount for these funds in California averages $5 billion annually- imagine how much interest that generates for the state! Sacramento Attorney Bill Palmer, who has represented numerous cases involving California unclaimed money, said the state's program was supposed to be a lost and found of sorts for Californians. Instead, it was turned into a profit generating 'business' in the past few years.

Tags: california unclaimed money, california unclaimed funds, ca unclaimed funds, califronia unclaimed property

<clipSource>http://ezinearticles.com/?Unclaimed-Money-In-California-Totals-$5-Billion&id=869198</clipSource>

Buying Season For Cali Homes

clipped by: ninjaturdle
clipper's remarks: Great real estate deals in California counties and buyers snapping homes up. A "perfect storm" of diseases can get unleashed by the kind of extreme swings in weather expected with global warming, triggering mass die-offs of wildlife or livestock, research now reveals.

Now the first clear example of such a perfect storm of diseases has been discovered by an international team of scientists.

Global warming is predicted to lead to extreme swings in weather events such as droughts and floods. These could theoretically lead normally tolerable diseases to converge and trigger multiple outbreaks of epidemics with catastrophic mortality.

Tags: global warming, world health, climate change, global weather

<clipSource>http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/warmingmaymakeperfectstormofdisease</clipSource>

Unclaimed Money In Indiana

clipped by: ninjaturdle
clipper's remarks: Over $300 million in the Indiana unclaimed property fund. The IN unclaimed money belongs to scores residents who have lost track of their financial assets. The lost money becomes state property after a while, so citizens should check and do an unclaimed money search ASAP!

Clip Source: ezinearticles.com

Each year states across the country, including Indiana, take in more unclaimed property than they return to the rightful owners, leading to piles of cash totaling tens of billions of dollars. Indiana unclaimed money alone now totals $350 million, and the money is there for the taking if the citizens it belongs to can just locate it and step forward to claim it.

The one downside to unclaimed money in Indiana is that there is a time limit on making your claim. Many states will hold your money forever, until some heir of yours claims it at some point, but Indiana only gives you 25 years. 25 years may sound like a long time, but if you consider that money becomes "unclaimed" because it's forgotten, which means there's a good chance it was abandoned a long time ago. Urgency is clearly key in locating lost property in the state of Indiana.

Tags: indiana unclaimed money, unclaimed money in indiana, in unclaimed money, indiana unclaimed funds, indiana uclaimed property, eshceat

<clipSource>http://ezinearticles.com/?Indiana-Now-Holding-350-Million-Dollars-in-Unclaimed-Money&id=892179</clipSource>

Americans selling-off their belongings

clipped by: ninjaturdle
clipper's remarks: Are things really this bad?

Clip Source: news.yahoo.com

Struggling with mounting debt and rising prices, faced with the toughest economic times since the early 1990s, Americans are selling prized possessions online and at flea markets at alarming rates.

To meet higher gas, food and prescription drug bills, they are selling off grandmother's dishes and their own belongings. WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
Medicare is lurching toward disaster
and it is too late for the Bush Administration and Congress to
do anything about it, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary
Michael Leavitt said on Tuesday.

He said the next administration will have to act to stop
rising costs and get control of the $400 billion federal health
insurance plan for the elderly, which now covers 44 million
people.

"Higher and higher costs are being borne by fewer and fewer
people. Sooner or later, this formula implodes," Leavitt said
in a speech to the right-leaning Heritage Foundation and
American Enterprise Institute think-tanks.

"It troubles me that this matter is not receiving more
attention in the presidential candidates' discussions. The next

25 years may sound like a long time, but if you consider that money becomes “unclaimed” because it's forgotten, which means there's a good chance it was abandoned a long time ago. Urgency is clearly key in locating lost property in the state of Indiana.

Tags: in unclaimed money, in unclaimed property, in unclaimed funds, lost assets

<clipSource>http://www.amazines.com/Advice/article_detail.cfm/388826?articleid=388826</clipSource>

Alabama State Treasure- Unclaimed Money

clipped by: ninjaturdle
clipper's remarks: This'll be a perfect source of extra cash especially with the dreary state of our economy nowadays.

Clip Source: alabamaunclaimedmoney.blogspot.com

Sunken treasure is not the only riches available for Americans wanting to go on a treasure hunt though. After reading the article on scuba-diving treasure hunters, I saw another news post about unclaimed money in Alabama and that the state treasurer has recently given away as much as $23 million of it to the state's residents in just a year's time. Well, the term 'given away' is kind of inappropriate- 'given back' is the better verb to use as the Alabama unclaimed money actually belonged to the people that received it in the first place. Learn more about national unclaimed money.

Tags: unclaimed property, search for unclaimed money, unclaimed funds

<clipSource>http://alabamaunclaimedmoney.blogspot.com/2007/11/state-unclaimed-money-in-alabama.html</clipSource>

Macbook Air- light on hardware.

clipped by: ninjaturdle
clipper's remarks: Those willing to shell out big bucks for Steve Jobs' new laptop have to shell-out extra for essential features.

Clip Source: tech.yahoo.com

Blogs are buzzing with excitement at the possibility of seeing the MacBook Air in stores this week, and a few readers reportedly got a shipment notice from Apple with a February 1st delivery date.
