A number of Sen. Hillary Clinton's top advisers will not be staying in Denver long enough to hear Barack Obama accept the nomination for president, according to sources familiar with their schedules.

Clinton will deliver her speech Tuesday night. She will hold a private meeting with her top financial supporters Wednesday at noon, and will thank her delegates at an event that afternoon. Former president Bill Clinton will speak that night. Several of Hillary Clinton's supporters are then planning to leave town. Among them, Terry McAuliffe, Clinton's campaign chairman, and longtime supporters Steve Rattner and Maureen White. Another of Clinton's top New York fundraisers, Alan Patricof, did not make the trip to Denver.

Tags: clinton, obama, democrats, campaign, election, convention

<clipSource>http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/08/25/clinton_adviser_to_skip_town_b.html</clipSource>

DNC smears Cantor for being Jewish

clipped by: n2sooners

Clip Source: www.redstate.com

The Democratic National Committee has a website set up to attack

Cantor -- Cantor Asked To Switch Sandwiches. "At a January 2003
fundraiser for Cantor, who had just become chief deputy whip,
Abramoff unveiled the Eric Cantor sandwich, 'a tuna-based stacker,'
which, lamentably, was 'not quite [the] power lunch befitting' the
only Jewish Republican in the House. Hence a request by Cantor
... to switch his eponymous sandwich to roast beef on challah, 'a

Nearly six in ten Obama supporters in Indiana say they would be dissatisfied if Clinton were the nominee -- that's (I believe) the high percentage of Obama supporters who have ever said that.

In both IN and NC, two thirds of Clinton supporters say they'd be dissatisfied if Obama were the nominee -- I believe that's the highest number recorded for that question, too.

The percentage of Clinton voters who say they'd choose McCain over Obama in a general election is approaching 40% in Indiana. The bill contains over 8,000 earmarks, bringing the total for 2008 up to over 10,000 earmarks compared to just 2,658 in 2007.

•	Spending Gimmicks: Instead of cutting wasteful spending out of the bill to bring its cost down to the President’s level, the bill uses budget tricks and gimmicks to hide at least $14 billion in extra domestic spending.

•	Policy Riders: Instead of limiting the package to spending needed to fund government operations, the bill includes unrelated policy items. Many of these riders are backed by special interests, such as organized labor, and could not win passage on their own.

Tags: pork, spending, budget, earmarks, democrats, congress, politics

<clipSource>http://demint.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressReleases.Detail&PressRelease_id=e8546e3b-9cd6-01fa-f16b-2f8753e2030b</clipSource>
