By the end of the day, we don't live in our work place: we return home to our family.

The rush outs, the meetings, the preparations and the presentations…all these we do for the simple fact that we can earn a decent income, live a comfortable life and can provide a comfortable living for our family.

No one and nothing is worth loosing our time and energy, in anyway!

Then again, it is not that easy to let go off all our negative emotions which we had learned and had accumulated all through our lives: such emotions, though injurious to our health, tend to become a vital part of our personality and of our life pattern! We obviously cannot throw them away and start living like Buddha or Mahatma Gandhi! If changes can be brought into our life that easier, then we won't be having our inspirational gurus and heroes to learn from and follow through!

importance of persistence, patience and of the secret of not quitting, when you are so close to achieving your target in life!

Call for sex lessons at age four

Children as young as four should be given compulsory sex education, two leading sexual health charities say.

The Family Planning Association and Brook told BBC Newsbeat more should be done to cut abortion rates and sexually transmitted infections among teenagers.

They argue gradual education from such a young age would help children not to rush into sex when they were older.

The Department for Children, Schools and Family said it was reviewing the

delivery of sex education in schools.

Children aged four might be taught about the names of body parts and basic ideas about different relationships.

The government is not giving young people enough information about sex and relationships, the charities add.

He added: "All the evidence shows that if you start sex and relationships education early - before children start puberty, before they feel sexual attraction - they start having sex later.

"They are much more likely to use contraception and practise safe sex."

One day a father and his rich family took his young son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

Very good, Dad!"

"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.

The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.

His son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are!"

A pair of fossils recently discovered in Kenya is challenging the straight-line story of human evolution.

Traditional evolutionary theories of the genus Homo suggest a successive progression: Homo habilis gave rise to Homo erectus, which then begat modern humans, Homo sapiens.

H. erectus is commonly seen as the most similar ancestor to modern humans, differing mostly by having a brain about three-quarters the size.

But the newly found upper jawbone and skull, which come from two separate skeletons, suggest that H. habilis was not a direct ancestor of modern humans and that H. erectus was less modern than previously thought.

The jawbone is attributed to H. habilis and was dated to 1.44 million years ago—meaning its far younger than previously known H. habilis fossils and dates to well after the emergence of H. erectus.

The finding indicates the two species lived side-by-side for half a million years in eastern Africa

Plants have family values, too, it seems, with new research suggesting they can recognize close relatives in order to work together.

An ability to tell family from strangers is well known in animals, allowing them to cooperate and share resources, but plants may possess similar social skills, scientists believe.

The study found plants from the same species of beach-dwelling wildflower grew aggressively alongside unrelated neighbors but were less competitive when they shared soil with their siblings.

Sea rocket, a North American species, showed more vigorous root growth when planted in pots with strangers than when raised with relatives from the same maternal family, the study found.

Kin selection also applies to competition, the scientists added, because if family members compete less with each other, the group will do better overall.

Napoleon's sword makes £3m

A gold-encrusted sword worn by Napoleon into battle in Italy was bought by his descendants for more than £3.26 million (€4.8 million) at a sale in Fontainebleau near Paris yesterday.

The sabre - which had an estimated value of £800,000 - was the last of the French emperor's in private hands. It was sold by one branch of his family to another.

The sword, right, classed by France as an historical monument - and therefore unable to leave the country - was sold by a descendant of the emperor's brother Jerome.

Napoleon wore the weapon when he ousted the Austrian army from Italy at the Battle of Marengo in June 1800, before he became emperor.

As the hammer came down, the auctioneer said "it stays in the family".

The slightly curved sabre, forged for Napoleon by Nicolas Noel Boutet at the Versailles firearms and blade factory, is decorated with Napoleon's favourite motifs of Imperial Rome, such as the head of Jupiter on the handle

Want a promotion? Treat mum well says China county

BEIJING (Reuters) - A county in central China plans in-depth checks on how its officials' treat their parents, with those who are nice to their mum and dad first in line for promotion, Xinhua news agency reported on Saturday.

Up to 500 family members, friends, colleagues and neighbours will be grilled by special investigators about the behaviour of each official from Changyuan county, including their family values and any drinking or gambling habits, the report said.

The findings will be considered when deciding promotions.

China's leaders are fretting about how to support its ageing population, and worried about slipping moral standards as younger generations rush to take advantage of the booming national economy.

China ushers in year of the pig

The whole country has been getting ready to celebrate

People across China are celebrating the arrival of the Lunar New Year - China's most important festival which is seen as particularly auspicious this year.

The year of the pig is supposed to bring good luck and prosperity. But this time it is a golden pig year, which happens once in six decades.

Vast numbers have been on the move to be with their family for celebrations.

Carnival dragons have been on parade and fireworks have been lighting up the night sky in Beijing and elsewhere.

State TV broadcast images of President Hu Jintao visiting a Chinese family to wish them well.

The whole country of China has been getting ready to celebrate.

There are red lanterns hanging in the parks, dragon dance performances and traditional fairs at some of the country's biggest temples.

More than 150,000 million people have travelling, using whatever means of transport they can to get to their home town and join in family celebrations.

Direct flights are also allowed between China and Taiwan for New Year.

Increased affluence and a greater number of migrant workers has added to the strain on China's transport system.

The Year of the Golden Pig falls once every 60 years.

Some soothsayers warn that the pig can bring turbulence, and warn of a rise in natural disasters and conflict in 2007.

The Year of the Pig will also be celebrated with greater sensitivity in some Asia countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia with large Muslim populations, which view pigs as offensive and unclean.

When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.

But it, too, seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.

Mahatma Gandhi believed that we must be the change we want to see in the world. This was well demonstrated when he helped India gain its independence. Gandhi was a revolutionary man, but he accomplished India's emergence as a nation without starting a revolution. In fact, he advocated no violence. One of the most powerful countries in the world yielded to the commitment of one man and the dream of millions.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Flight attendants often deal with obnoxious passengers who won't listen to instructions by kicking them off the plane. But a Massachusetts couple think AirTran Airways went overboard by treating their crying 3-year-old daughter in much the same way.

Julie and Gerry Kulesza and daughter Elly were removed from the flight when the girl refused to take her seat before takeoff, airline officials said Tuesday. But her parents said they just needed a little more time to calm her down.

The Kuleszas planned to fly home to Boston on Jan. 14 from Fort Myers after a four-day visit with the girl's paternal grandparents. She was removed because "she was climbing under the seat and hitting the parents and wouldn't get in her seat" during boarding, AirTran spokeswoman Judy Graham-Weaver said.

AirTran officials say they were only following Federal Aviation Administration rules that children age 2 and above must have their own seat and be wearing a seatbelt upon takeoff.

"The flight was already delayed 15 minutes and in fairness to the other 112 passengers on the plane, the crew made an operational decision to remove the family," Graham-Weaver said.

But Julie Kulesza said: "We weren't giving an opportunity to hold her, console her or anything."

"Elly was sitting in front of our seat crying," she said in a phone interview. "The attendant motioned to a seat and asked if we purchased it for her."

They had paid for the seat. Gerry Kulesza said another attendant then approached the family and told him: "You need to get her in control and in her seat."

The couple told the attendants they were trying. Julie Kulesza said she asked the attendants if Elly could sit on her lap, but they said no.

The Orlando-based carrier reimbursed the family $595.80, the cost of the three tickets, and offered them three roundtrip tickets anywhere the airline flies, Graham-Weaver said.
