First, you need to know the Template Hierarchy of Category Templates. The Template Hierarchy determines exactly which Template file is used by WordPress when displaying a Category page.

Suppose the Category ID of the Category in question is 6. WordPress uses the first Template file it finds in your current Theme's directory from the following list.

category-6.php
category.php
archive.php
index.php

If you do not have a category-6.php, WordPress will check for a category.php, and so on.

Returns true if the current post is in the specified Category. Normally this tag is used within The Loop, but the $post variable must be set when using this tag outside of the loop.

Normally, this tag must be used inside The Loop because it depends on a WordPress PHP variable ($post) that is assigned a value only when The Loop runs. However, you can manually assign this variable and then use the tag just fine.

For example, suppose you want a single.php Template File in your Theme that will display a completely different page depending on what category the individual post is in. Calling in_category() from within The Loop may not be convenient for your Template. So use the following as your Theme's single.php.

This function will be found in WordPress v2.1 it is NOT supported by WordPress v2.0. wp_list_bookmarks(), displays bookmarks found in the Administration > Blogroll > Manage Blogroll panel. This Template Tag allows the user to control how the bookmarks are sorted and displayed and is intended to replace the Template Tags, get_links_list() and get_links().

This function replaces one or more other functions that have been deprecated. Note: This function is only available in WordPress 2.1 or newer.

wp_list_categories() displays a list of Categories as links. When a link is clicked, all the posts in that Category will display on a Category Page using the appropriate Category Template dictated by the Template Hierarchy rules.

wp_list_categories() works in much the same way as the two template tags it replaces for WordPress 2.1 or newer - list_cats() (deprecated) and wp_list_cats() (deprecated) - but also includes blogroll link categories.

Screengrab! is an extension for Firefox that makes it easy to save a web-page as an image. With it, you can save anything that you can see in a browser window - from a small selection, to a complete page.

You should really download it right now.

Here’s a few examples (that open in a new window) for your perusal…

Basically Screengrab! let’s you take what you want from a web-page: the entire scrollable document, just the visible bit, or a draggable selection. Screengrab will even save just the contents of an individual frame.

This thesis is a research project that was written in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (Psychology) at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. (c) 2005 by Elaine Cook

It was approved in November, 2005.

I interviewed 7 long term polyamorous couples to explore the nature of a commitment that is not defined by sexual exclusivity. I described the nature of the relationships that respondents are involved in, their conceptualization of the nature of commitment, the ways that they maintain their primary bond, and the benefits of polyamory as perceived by the participants. The common elements leading to a successful primary relationship were mutual appreciation, emotional closeness, honesty, good communication, and flexibility. The respondents were oriented towards personal growth.

One of the most addictive parts of 30 Boxes is the Buddy Updates button (top left corner) that gives you a window into the most recent things your friends/family are doing. It tells you when they add/edit shared calendar events along with all of the social web stuff that they are adding. It is the best way I know of to follow close friends.

We have improved our blog badge so that you can show off all of your web stuff outside of 30 Boxes in a nice html widget (we have an excellent flash version in the works!) This lets you combine events that you might want to share (or repurpose your upcoming schedule, even feed it gcal) along with your flickr photos, twitter updates, and fun social media. 1.    Log in to Twitter
2.    Click Badges in the top navigation bar
3.    Select either the Javascript or the CSS badge, and copy the code
4.    Alter the code: edit the Javascript/CSS badge to include more twitter posts by changing the html.
