How anyone supports him's beyond me.

While NY's ex-mayor did serve,
he put on a dress like some perv.

Fred Thompson got in very late.
His acting skills don't much relate
to leading this nation.

I'd ask his young wife for a date.

There once was a mayor named Rudy
who cashed in 9-11 as political booty
he hired a friend for a job
who had ties to the mob

A virtual character, or avatar, for all the virtual worlds in which people play is the goal of a joint project between IBM and Linden Lab

While the character's appearance may change depending on where it is taken, its basic characteristics, such as looks and underlying personal data, would be retained.

"It is going to happen anyway," said Colin Parris, IBM vice president of digital convergence in a statement.

"If you think you are walled and secure, somebody will create something that's open and then people will drain themselves away as fast as possible," he told the Reuters news agency.

The irregular verb is being 'drived' to extinction

The process beginned hundreds of years ago and bringed a huge change in our use of the language.

Now researchers believe more of the irregular verbs that make English such a rich and varied experience are heading for extinction.

In future, 'stank' will evolve into 'stinked', 'drove' will become 'drived' and 'slew' will turn into 'slayed', a team of linguists and mathematicians say. And if the simplification becomes really serious, 'begun' could change to 'beginned', 'brought' to 'bringed' and 'fell' to 'falled'.

The prediction comes from the first study of its kind into how irregular verbs have evolved in literature over the last 1,200 years.

Around 97 per cent of verbs in English are regular. That means in the past tense they simply take an '-ed' ending – so 'talk' becomes 'talked', and 'jump' becomes 'jumped'.

Irregular verbs, however, do their own thing. Some like 'wed' stay the same in the past tense while others like 'begin' take a different ending to become 'begun'.

Dog saves family from fire started by cat

Thumper, a black Labrador retriever, is getting credit for saving a Greenville man when a fire swept through his home.

Roland Cote said his wife and their 7-year-old grandson were away when the blaze started early Sunday in a converted two-story garage. He said Thumper grabbed him by the arm to wake him, leaving just enough time for him to dial 911 before fleeing the fast-moving fire.

While the dog is the hero, a cat is the bad guy in this story.

Cote said the fire marshal investigator believes the blaze was started when Princess, the family cat, tipped over a kerosene lantern. Cote says he and his pets escaped safely, but

he says Princess did get her tail singed by the flames

Former Celtic captain Neil Lennon has said he is recovering from depression, which has affected him throughout his football career.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder said he had not experienced depression, with the help of medication, for a year.

He was speaking at the launch of a booklet called Routes to Recovery.

He said: "There is hope for anyone with depression. Don't feel alone, it's okay, it's an illness - you can recover from it.

"I said to myself, why am I feeling this way?

"I've achieved everything in my life I wanted to do - very well off as well.

"But all those things mean nothing unless you've got your own health, your happiness

"It tires you out, it wears you down, because it is with you everywhere, it is a constant battle to try and make yourself right."

Lennon told an audience it was nothing to be ashamed of.

The City of London police have been in, and, says Graham Sheffield, artistic director of the Barbican, "they are completely cool. We're kosher." That means, come Friday, the first ever mainstream exhibition devoted to sex will be unleashed upon an unsuspecting British public.

According to co-curator Martin Kemp: "We are not setting out to shock, but it is certainly provoking." Marina Wallace, another of the curators, added: "We want London to be thinking about nothing but sex for three months."

The Cassini Probe sent us this mesmerizing and very rare picture of the planet Saturn backlit by the sun. Light diffuses through the rings and dust clouds that orbit the giant ringed planet showing us that it's ringed beauty is only a fraction of what the planet really has to offer.

While the beauty of this picture is a sight to behold in of itself, the true uniqueness of this image only shows itself on closer inspection. You see that pale blue dot visible through the rings? To paraphrase Carl Sagan: Everyone you've ever known, every belief you have, every nation at war, every point of view you've ever experienced, every hope, every dream, every good, and every evil resides on that small ordinary mote. Say hello to Earth seen from 930 million miles away.

the sun's harsh light could destroy Cassini's camera. However, in this instance when the sun was eclipsed by Saturn, NASA jumped on the opportunity to deliver this breathtaking shot.
