Guess what, Senator? Presidential elections focus on foreign-policy principles, and if you can’t defend yours, then you have no business running for office.

Clip Source: hotair.com

George Bush seems to have really rattled Barack Obama and the Democratic Party with his speech yesterday in the Israeli Knesset. Rather than ignoring Bush’s argument against appeasement, or adopting it, Barack Obama has declared that Bush intended his denunciation of appeasement as an attack on his campaign, even though Bush never even mentioned the nationality of modern appeasers in his speech. Obama lashed out in a speech today, calling Bush’s rhetoric “appalling”:

Bush wasn’t referring to American politicians in this passage, but instead politicians in Europe and elsewhere who have either an animus towards Israel or appreciation for dhimmitude. Nothing — and I mean nothing — in this speech points to any candidate or the Democratic Party, unless they identify themselves as the reference

Obama could have taken the smart route and embraced it to explain how he understands the lessons of appeasement, which is why his talks with Iran would not result in it.

Tags: bush, israeli knesset, obama, democratic party

<clipSource>http://hotair.com/archives/2008/05/16/rookie-mistakes-again-obama-owns-appeasement/</clipSource>

Barack Obama’s Priority: Global Poverty Act $845Billion Carbon Tax

clipped by: merrie
clipper's remarks: If that wasn’t enough to enlighten most of us to Barack Obama’s real agenda, let’s take a look at another part of the United Nations Millennium declaration, this time in reference to gun control.

It seems to me, his first priority is not the people of America, what we need is a President of the United States, one who will stand for the rights of our citizens, even if it is against the global interests of the United Nations.

Clip Source: myviewmytake.wordpress.com

I am all for fighting poverty, but what I have found suggests they are willing to go beyond fighting poverty.

Senator Barack Obama is the main sponsor of Senate Bill S.2433, commonly called the Global Poverty Act. Sounds good, doesn’t it. Like I said, I am all for fighting poverty and I am sure most everyone else is, as well. What I am not for is putting the interests of the United States in second place in the fight on poverty. Let’s look at some of the provisions of this bill. The following statements come from Barack Obama’s Senate website.

The Global Poverty Act:

On the surface, this all sounds good. However, when you look at what the bill actually requires the United States to do to meet these requirements, it starts to smell like there is something rotten in Denmark

If you read the United Nations Millennium Declaration, you will find what they really want the United States to do. Again, from the Accuracy In Media article:

Tags: global poverty act, s.2433, obama, $845 billion global tax, united nations, kyoto, gun control

<clipSource>http://myviewmytake.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/barack-obamas-african-priority-global-poverty-act/</clipSource>

The New “Hip-Hop Pastor”, Same Old Message

clipped by: merrie
clipper's remarks: But a videotape of a sermon he delivered at Wright’s church shows this “wonderful young pastor” referring to “ghetto prophets” and “thug theology,” calling the late rapper Tupac Shakur a “prophet,” and reciting at length lyrics to Shakur’s song “Thugz Mansion.”

In an interview last month with National Public Radio, Moss refused to distance himself from claims by Wright that the U.S. government was involved in distributing illegal drugs to minorities.

In his Easter sermon, Moss said Wright was “lynched” by the international media, and compared Wright to Jesus.

Clip Source: www.newsmax.com

In return, Obama made sure to send plenty of pork to Jones's district. When asked about pork-barrel spending, Jones famously replied: "Some call it pork; I call it steak." Obama repaid the generosity. When he had a chance to back clean Democratic candidates for president of the Cook County board of supervisors and Illinois governor, he stayed with the allies of the Outfit.
In the Illinois Senate, he made a specialty of voting present.
Obama is such a down-the-line partisan that, in the past two years he has voted with the Democrats more often than did the party's majority lea

Clip Source: www.theaustralian.news.com.au

He engages in doubletalk when, on free trade and Iraq, he tells the yokels one thing and the policy people another. He overstates when he presents his minimal accomplishments in the Illinois Senate as proof of his stature. He engages in systematic deception when he says he doesn't take money from lobbyists.

All of this is unappealing, but also unexceptional

And because his deeds are so few, the disparity is all the more salient

He wants to be the conscience of the country without necessarily having one himself.

But Chicago, until recently a city of Lithuanians, blacks and Poles governed by Irishmen on the patronage model of the Italian Christian Democrats, is the city of political and cultural tribalism.

Blacks adapted to the tribalism and the corrupt patronage politics that accompanied it. Historically, one of the ironies of Chicago politics is that the clean-government candidates have been the most racist, while those most open to black aspirations have been the most corrupt

Tags: obama, votine record, chicago, corruption, avery, wright, rezko

<clipSource>http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23643866-5013948,00.html</clipSource>

Obama Campaign Introduces Customized Lapel Pins

clipped by: merrie
clipper's remarks: Update: It's just been announced that two superdelegates from the Virgin Islands have pledged support for Obama, giving him his first-ever superdelegate lead over Clinton.
