They’re sneakers. They’re sandals. They’re Germany’s craziest new import.

Skorts. Capris. Puffers. Clothes that do double duty, whether it be via an extra layer of fabric or a zip that removes excess fabric like hoods, aren’t as much about fashion as they are function. That is, until Marc Jacobs came out with boots with multiple horizontal zippers so you could go from bootie to knee-high in no time. With that concept in mind (yes, laziness), Munich shoemakers Nat-2 are hand-crafting two-for-one sneaker-sandal hybrids, featuring interchangeable colored shoe sections that zip on and off as fast as your mood can change from high to low-top. The line has an international patent on these kicks, but lucky for us, Nat-2 is launching e-commerce on their site very soon.

The MINI Chateau, based on the MINI Clubman S, made its world debut at the recent Top Marques show in Monaco. It will be limited to just 12 units and radiates exclusivity and luxury with its wood trims and a miniature, shock-absorbent wine cellar (room for 6 bottles and chalices) in the trunk.

The MINI Chateau is painted in changeable pearly brown, matched with sandy/gold metallic paint for the roof, bumpers and some details. But what really stands out, is the use of precious wood, both on the inside and outside of the car. Inside Aznom fitted the upholstery with gaucho leather and Alcantara to create a warm, vintage atmosphere.

The car rides on 18-inch TSW 'Pace' alloy wheels wrapped in 205/40 Yokohama S-Drive rubber. The Mini Chateau’s 12 limited-edition exclusive samples will each display a numbered label with the name of the lucky owner. By Tuija Seipell.

It’s an amazing thing to watch a band develop and transform with every piece of new music they create.

Take the new single from Labrador’s indie golden boys the Radio Dept for example.

It’s another step in the direction of a sound which is resoundingly dark and sombre, far removed from the gorgeous and spacious dream-pop of their debut disc Lesser Matters. While their sophomore record, Pet Grief, hinted at something darker with its raised glasses to detachment and disappointment, 'Freddie And The Trojan Horse' sees the Radio Dept. deep in a swell of bitterness and resentment. From the stuttered machine-gun beat to Johan Duncanson’s seething indictment of the Swedish government, 'Freddie And The Trojan Horse' is cold, harsh and one of the most exhilarating things I’ve heard all year. Convicted forger A. Schiller was serving his time in Sing
Sing prison in the late 1800s when guards found him dead in
his cell. On his body they found seven regular straight pins
whose heads measured the typical 47/1000ths of an inch or
1.17 millimeters in diameter. Under 500 magnification it was
found that the tiny etchings seen on the heads of the pins
were the words to The Lord's Prayer, which is 65 words and
254 letters long. Of the seven pins, six were silver and one
was gold - the gold pin's prayer was flawless and a true
masterpiece. Schiller had spent the last 25 years of his life
creating the pins, using a tool too small to be seen by the
naked eye. It is estimated that it took 1,863 sepatate carving
strokes to make it. Schiller went blind because of his
artwork.

THE CHOCOLATIER - Where are the world's best chocolate/candy stores?

We don't need scientific evidence to believe that chocolate is an aphrodisiac, energy booster, mood changer, antioxidant and all-around elixir of fabulous life. Neither did the Olmecs, who are the mother culture of MesoAmerica predating even the Mayans and Aztecs, and the first ones to cultivate the cacao trees (that they called kakawa.)

But what we do need is more cool places in which to indulge. Amazing chocolate/candy stores are popping up all over the world and we must visit all of them, for research purposes, of course.

Please let us know where the best are so that we can investigate them for inclusion in our print magazine.

Thanks to a fascinating new technique you can cover yourself in body art and no one will be the wiser, unless they see you in the dark, which is the only time these tattoos are visible. The new technique uses blacklight reactive ink, which is reactive to UV light. It's kinda freaky but imagine the fun you could have after dark.

Elaborately themed pubic parties such as the Pillow Fight Club and Water Gun Assassinations have become a surprise phenomenon around the world. The latest is Bubble Battles.. Last month (July) six massive bubble battles took place across the continent of Canada. Gorgeous young things soaked to their bones in hot water bubbles, need we say more? GRAND OPENING - Drv-In (New York)

Back in May this year, we told you about a little shop in New York called Pong (pictured below). A tiny table tennis parlor that you could hire out and film your slide into sporting greatness. What we also mentioned was after three months, Pong would be gone in favor of something else.

And the time has come for it to be replaced, by a Drive-in theatre. What was formally a sporting arena, is a cinema fitted with a 1965 Ford Falcon convertible and widescreen. Starting with films from 1960 and progressing chronologically each night, DRV-IN speeds through four decades of cinematic achievement.

With seating for six and a full concession stand, where else in Manhattan are you going to relive all those crappy B-Movie moments you saw when you were a kid? By Matt Hussey

With the phenomenal success of sites such as postsecrect.com, comes a socially responsible and highly creative site encouraging smokers to quit the dark habit.

www.theartofquitting.com is a Dutch website which asks visitors to contribute a quit smoking message in the most interesting way they can create.

From a bent cigarette mimicking the Nike symbol with the slogan 'Just Quit It', through to personal images of the smokers themselves, the site is constructive, creative and inspiring. By Billy T

Here is a selection of images straight from the portfolio of the sought-after illustrator Steven Wilson. Because Steven’s impressive client list includes everyone from Coke to Nike, BBC and MTV, it is likely that you have already come across one of his beautiful works.

Steven is inspired by circus imagery, tribal art and 70s rock posters among other things, and he can often be found sifting through flea market stalls looking for obscure books to use as reference. All of this ensures that his work stands out. There is no question that his pieces define and represent a new wave of illustrated art. He has a particular passion for working on albums covers. Most of us know when we see an ‘M’ on the back of the BMW passing us on the freeway, there’s virtually no way we’re going to catch up. The ‘M’ division BMW has recently revealed its latest concept – a tribute to their first mid-engine supercar originally manufactured by collaborative efforts of BMW and Lamborghini thirty years ago – the M1.

In the world of supercars, the M1 certainly looks like it will hold its own – an effortless blend of retro cool with revolutionary elegance. The new Liquid Orange M1 may only be a concept right now, but just know if you see those beady headlights quickly approaching from your rear view mirror, move out of the fast lane – you’re about to be overtaken! Adidas have followed recent trends by setting up a store in a highly unlikely location, with this particular store located in the heart of Berlin Mitte in Germany. An area where a lot of renevations and re-building is happening, Adidas have acquired what looks like one of the run down and beat up buildings still left although entering the store you will find a well-lit interior, a delicate installation and high-end products. N°74 provides great surprise leaving the tagged and dirty streets when you enter, "it also seems like a relic from former "GDR" times" so lets hope this location becomes a must see store.
