1. In Case of Emergency - The worldwide Emergency Number for mobiles is 112. Even if you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and you dial 112, the mobile will search any existing networks to establish the emergency number for you. Interestingly, this number can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.

2. Lock Your Keys in the Car? - If your car has a remote lock/unlock device (and you have a second one, say at home - aside from the one on your keychain that's locked inside the car) you can call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone, hold your phone about a foot from your car door, and have the person at home press the unlock button on the device, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other remote for your car, you can unlock the doors.

3. Secret Battery Power - Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call, and you don't have a charger. Nokia phones come with a reserve battery. To activate it, press the keys *3370#. Your cell will restart with this reserve, and show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

4. Disabling a Stolen Phone - To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #. A 15-digit serial code will appear on the screen. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

Robotic exoskeleton replaces muscle work

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- A robotic exoskeleton controlled by the wearer's own nervous system could help users regain limb function, which is encouraging news for people with partial nervous system impairment, say University of Michigan researchers.

The ankle exoskeleton developed at U-M was worn by healthy subjects to measure how the device affected ankle function. The U-M team has no plans to build a commercial exoskeleton, but their results suggest promising applications for rehabilitation and physical therapy, and a similar approach could be used by other groups who do build such technology.

"This could benefit stroke patients or patients with incomplete injuries of the spinal cord," said Daniel Ferris, associate professor in movement science at U-M. "For patients that can walk slowly, a brace like this may help them walk faster and more effectively."

Ferris and former U-M doctoral student Keith Gordon, who is now a post-doctoral fellow at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, showed that the wearer of the U-M ankle exoskeleton could learn how to walk with the exoskeleton in about 30 minutes. Additionally, the wearer's nervous system retained the ability to control the exoskeleton three days later.

Electrical signals sent by the brain to our muscles tell them how to move. In people with spinal injuries or some neurological disorders, those electrical signals don't arrive full strength and are uncoordinated. In addition, patients are less able to keep track of exactly where and how their muscles move, which makes re-learning movement difficult.

Typically, robotic rehabilitative devices are worn by patients so that the limb is moved by the brace, which receives its instructions from a computer. Such devices use repetition to help force a movement pattern.

i "stumbled" upon this site, played the game for hours! addictive. kills time. and i finished all the levels. unfortunately, i ended up ranking somewhere around 700.

one of the coolest flash games i've seen for a long time.

A Macromedia Flash based Warcraft TD game inspired by Element TD for WarcraftIII. All programming has been done, from scratch, by me (David Scott) Graphics and sound effects have been made using the level editor that comes with WarcraftIII and Adobe Photoshop. A thanks to Bluey, Sencerd and Yo-Sushi for their help testing and a big thanks to Grrr for balancing.

The aim of the game is to kill the creeps before they reach the end of the maze, do this by building attacking towers on the grass around the maze. To build click on the one you want to build on the right, then click on the map where you want it to be built. Once built you can click on them to upgrade or sell. To get a high score keep as much of your gold in the bank as possible, at the end of each round you earn interest on the gold in the bank. Special levels are where the creeps are none-normal, they include FAST [6, 13, 19, 26, 32] AIR [8, 17, 27] IMMUNE [10, 21, 32] BOSS [11, 22, 33] You get wood every 7 levels use wood to research upgrades.
