Amber Alert!! Missing 2 Year Old Girl

Maine police have issued the state's first Amber Alert for a missing 2-year-old girl who was taken by her father after he allegedly assaulted the girl's mother at her Sanford apartment.

Authorities are searching for 38-year-old Gary Traynham and his daughter, Hailey, who was taken from her mother at 11:15 a.m. Monday.

This is the first Amber Alert issued in Maine since the system went into effect in December of 2008.

Police believe Traynham and the girl may be in eastern New Hampshire.

Traynham is driving a 1998 green Dodge 1500 pickup truck with Maine registration 8629NB.

He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds with balding brown hair, hazel eyes and a dark goatee. Police say the girl has shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes.

Teens Vandalize Jewish Center

Three teenagers are accused of vandalizing a Jewish community center in Barnstable. Police say the teens caused extensive damage, and even downloaded images of Hitler on a rabbi's computer.

A witness saw two teens running from the Cape Cod Chabad Lubavitch community center late Wednesday morning.

When police arrived they found doors kicked in, the building ransacked, and several items missing. Anti-semitic images, including some of Adolf Hitler, were also downloaded onto the rabbi's computer during the robbery.

Rabbi Yekusiel Alperowitz. "I say to them, shape up and get serious about life, learn respect for others, respect for religion, culture and I hope you never do such a thing again."

They are charged with breaking and entering, larceny, willful injury to a church and damaging property for the purpose of intimidation based on religion.

3 Year Old Digs Up Rings In Time For 50th Anniversary

Ryan Baima, 3, loves to dig in his yard, and it was while he was digging recently that he made an incredible discovery.

He brought a ring, caked with dirt, over to his mother

Luna Baima says she didn't think much of it, until Ryan asked if she wanted the other one.

That's when it clicked in her head, that her son had likely just found someone's engagement ring and wedding band.

Luna began asked neighbors about the rings, and one neighor remembered that 33 years ago, a woman named Joan Mulligan had lost her rings while weeding in the yard.

She had offered a reward to children in the neighborhood, and they searched for days, but the rings were never found.

Ryan and Joan met on Tuesday. Ryan gave Joan her rings, and she gave him $50s

She is going to have them repaired and then plans to wear all four wedding of her wedding and engagement rings.

Joan says this is especially meaningful, because she and her husband William will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year.

Carrie Prejeans Lawsuit Fizzles Due To Sex Tape

Did the legal battle between former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant organizers suddenly conclude because organizers presented Prejean with a sex tape starring the religiously devout beauty queen?

Celebrity site TMZ says yes and CNN, last night, said a source with knowledge of the settlement confirmed it. CBS News has no independent verification of the story at this time.

n August, Prejean sued Miss California USA organizers for libel, slander and religious discrimination. She accused them of telling her to stop mentioning God, even before she made controversial remarks against gay marriage.

The pageant countersued Prejean last month, claiming the buxom blonde still owed them $5,200 for the breast implants they helped her buy.

When a female rider on the T was eastbound from Copley Station on Monday, someone from behind grabbed her buttocks. She turned to her female friend, and said incredulously, "Did you grab my a**?"

But when her friend said "no," a male's voice from behind said, "I did it! And I liked it! But you'll never see me again."

Well, the groper was wrong. The victim found T police, and when she spotted the man, she pointed him out. Now, 52-year-old William Carlisle of Boston is under arrest, charged with indecent assault and battery -- a 5-year felony.

In the past 18 months, the T Police have stepped up their program against riders who grope female riders. So far, they've had nearly 100 reports of riders being groped

William Carlisle is the latest to be arrested. "This is a serious issue," said T Police Chief Paul MacMillan. "It's sexual assault, pure and simple. How would you like it if it was your wife, or sister, or mother? We want to make the T safe and comfortable for everyone."

Bea Arthur leaves $300K to gay youth

The actress, who died in April, included a $300,000 donation to New York's Ali Forney Center, an organization supporting homeless LGBT youth, in her will, leaving center Executive Director Carl Siciliano overwhelmed by her kindness.

He had been struggling to keep the doors of the shelter open. The organization assists more than 1,000 people each year, providing shelter for those who had to leave home "for being who they are," Siciliano said.

"The last year and a half, since the economic crisis started, it's been really hard to keep this program going," Siciliano said. "A lot of the foundation and corporate money that we used to get has dried up, and we've been growing. Every day, we have about 125 kids a night waiting to get into our housing."

But on Tuesday morning, a FedEx carrier delivered a $300,000 check.

Siciliano said he immediately started to cry. Arthur's donation couldn't have come at a better time.

Residents of Ohio's capital city are complaining that police officers are telling them to move out if they're fed up with neighborhood crime.

At least two Columbus city council members have heard the complaint

An aide to Councilwoman Charleta Tavares says she has received more than 20 calls. Councilman Andrew Ginther says if police are making the comments, they're neither acceptable nor appropriate, though he says he believes most officers want to be helpful.

A police spokesman says the department addresses the complaints when it's given the name of an officer

A police union official says he understands if officers are frustrated with crime. Fraternal Order of Police President Jim Gilbert says: "It's like the OK Corral out there."

NH restaurant sets meatball record

CONCORD, N.H. – The bouncing mega-meatball record has landed in the East Coast

Matthew Mitnitsky, owner of Nonni's Italian Eatery in Concord, said Sunday that a 222.5-pound meatball was authenticated as the world's largest after being weighed by state weights and measures officials.

A Guinness Book of World Records official confirmed the big meatball as a record breaker and presented Mitnitsky with a plaque.

The old record of 198.6 pounds was set just over a month ago after Los Angeles-based talk show host Jimmy Kimmel vowed to beat a record set in Mexico. That record — 109 pounds — was set in August.

Mitnitsky said he got involved "to bring the meatball back to the East Coast because that's where it originated."
