Michael Jackson had an undeniable impact on millions of people’s lives. But so did Elvis Presley. When Presley died on Aug. 16, 1977, ABC and NBC’s nightly news programs led with the story, but CBS did not.

Tags: celebrities, news, media, michael jackson, magazines

<clipSource>http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/Americas/2009/June/Is-America-Too-Obsessed-With-Celebrities-.html</clipSource>

Endless Michael Jackson Songs that Haven't Been Released Yet!

clipped by: lizzyville
clipper's remarks: Good news for fans!

Clip Source: lizzyville.blogs.com

"Endless" Unreleased Michael Jackson Songs Coming to a Store Near You

"Michael Jackson had a mountain of unreleased recordings in the vault

“StreetWars,” an urban game of hide-and-seek tag, is transforming New York City into a playground. Players signed up and paid a registration fee of $45 in exchange for a "dossier" with "targets" who, by the game's rules, are other agents with secret names. The dossier also includes real names and photos. It is rare for a professional athlete to take time off for mental issues, but it has happened three times in just the first two months of the major league season. Detroit Tigers pitcher Dontrelle Willis missed the opening six weeks of the season due to an anxiety disorder, and both St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Khalil Greene and Cincinnati Reds outfielder Joey Votto were placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday for mental health issues.

Tags: sports, baseball

<clipSource>http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/sports/2009/june/Examining-Anxiety-Disorders-in-Baseball.html</clipSource>

On this Day: Space Monkey Mission Succeeds!

clipped by: lizzyville
clipper's remarks: This was actually yesterday, but...still cute. According to the Bangor Daily News, the Wolf Inquiry Project has put out a call for volunteers "willing to spend a night howling like wolves in Maine's North Woods, and who won't be scared off if they get a response." The project is an example of a howling survey, and is aimed at determining if wolves are present in the state.

Tags: animals, bizarre, odd news, nature, environment

<clipSource>http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/environment/2009/may/Howling-Surveys-Can-Save-Wolves.html</clipSource>

Polls Suggest You Don't Need Money to Be Happy

clipped by: lizzyville
clipper's remarks: Wouldn't you agree that having no money is great because we have no obligations to spend it?

Clip Source: www.findingdulcinea.com

Polls Suggest You Don’t Need Money to Be Happy

Although more people are worried about the economy and the job market, several polls indicate that such concerns have had little impact on their happiness.

The titan of print and television news was “amazed that some of the best footage of the massive waves was available online though amateur video—and not on television or in newspapers.” How this amazement equated with his purchasing the parent company of the self-appointed “MTV of the Internet” for the memorable sum of $500 million is anyone’s guess. Angwin does let us hazard a few.

John Hoyer Updike was born in Reading, Pa. on March 18, 1932.
