This is a great resource to building relationships with other bloggers.

Clip Source: northxeast.com

How To Talk To Bloggers

The ability to talk with a network of bloggers — and maybe even some high profile ones — is an incredible boon for any blogger.

Be intriguing.

Be useful.

Watch over the blog.

Correct design flaws.

Spread their ideas.

Leverage your skills.

Write guest-posts.

Develop name-recognition.

Earn their favor.

Be brief.

Be clear.

Don’t be difficult.

Don’t take more than you give.

Don’t take advantage of your connection.

Be memorable.

Be friendly without fake flattery. If you’re talking to a blogger far more popular than you, it’s easy to start talking to them like you’re not worthy of their time. If you put yourself across that way, some of that viewpoint may rub off on the blogger! If you give as much as you take, you have no reason to act as if they’re doing you a favor.

Tags: blogging, conversation, relationships

<clipSource>http://northxeast.com/community/how-to-talk-to-bloggers/</clipSource>

Bomb Juice at ArsTechnica

clipped by: linuxchic
clipper's remarks: Leave my shampoo alone.

Clip Source: arstechnica.com

Let me welcome the TSA to the world of blogging by throwing a question their way and seeing if they reply. After all, you're not really a blogger if you're not mixing it up with other bloggers in the fast-paced game of snark and counter-snark. So here's my question:

My experience in airport security line conversations over the years is that everyone who takes a moment to turn three or four neurons' worth of attention to the much-hated liquids policy comes to exactly the same conclusion: if it takes, say, 20 ounces of bomb juice to blow up an airplane, then you can just send two terrorists with 10 ounces of bomb juice each on board, and they can combine their bomb juice to make a 20-ounce bomb. So why the seemingly idiotic limits on the amount of liquids in my carry-on bag? And why, if I'm in the security line with a bottle of water or a cup of coffee, can't I just drink some of it to demonstrate that it is not, in fact, bomb juice?

Tags: snarky, security

<clipSource>http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080131-tsa-blog-smackdown-explain-to-me-about-bomb-juice.html</clipSource>
