Committing to your goals doesn’t mean you slave away at work you dislike, celebrating only the destination. A real abiding commitment means that you love what you do each day. You are at least as passionate about the path as you are about the results. If you love the path you’re on, your passion motivates you to keep taking the next step.

<clipSource>http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/02/enjoying-the-journey/</clipSource>

Quarterly Planning Time

clipped by: krisanajuta

Clip Source: www.stevepavlina.com

Quarterly Planning Time

Today I finished typing up my detailed plan for this quarter, which is about 10
pages long. I revise my goals and plans roughly every 90 days, and I find that
although this can be tedious (usually 10-15 hours of tiresome work), it’s an
essential tool for me, not just for running a business but for managing my
entire life. Life can get pretty complicated sometimes, and it’s easy to get
knocked off track by external pressures if you don’t know precisely where you’re
headed.

The main thing a written plan does for me is gives me a sense of peace, knowing
that I’ve thought everything through consciously, and everything is covered. It
can be hard to make choices such as… should I spend time with the wife and kids,
or exercise, or practice my next speech, or write an article, or work on my
book, or do some marketing tasks, or play poker, or read a book?

<clipSource>http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2004/10/quarterly-planning-time/</clipSource>

Abolishing Annoyances

clipped by: krisanajuta

Clip Source: www.stevepavlina.com

Abolishing Annoyances

Clip Source: www.stevepavlina.com

Sometimes when we’re focused on doing all the “important” stuff, the little stuff begins to gradually pile up. I’m not talking about little stuff that’s perpetually on your to do list that you never get around to. I mean the little stuff that never makes it onto your list in the first place because it’s so trivial.

Make a list of all these little things, and dedicate a block of time to handling them in one fell swoop — if you have a lot of them, consider dedicating one full day to the process of abolishing annoyances. Fix what’s broken, oil the squeaks, return or sell or give away items you don’t want, etc. If you take the time to handle all this little stuff in one big batch, you may be surprised at how much your mood and your energy level improves.

<clipSource>http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/01/abolishing-annoyances/</clipSource>

Graduating College in 3 Semesters

clipped by: krisanajuta

Clip Source: www.stevepavlina.com

Graduating College in 3 Semesters

Think about what would happen if you elevated one of your goals or projects to the level of “mission” or “purpose” and became deeply committed to it for 30-120 days, ruthlessly triaging out of your life everything that wasn’t connected with that purpose. Some type-A behavior patterns would naturally emerge, such as being driven, hard-working, and busy. But the negative side of type-A (aka “hurry sickness”) need not be present. That type of behavior is in fact induced by a lack of clear focus, trying to label too many things as urgent AND important instead of taking the time to discover the core of what’s most important and meaningful to you.

<clipSource>http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/12/graduating-college-in-3-semesters/</clipSource>

PodCast Setup

clipped by: krisanajuta

Clip Source: www.stevepavlina.com

my podcasts are recorded with a condenser mic routed through a mixer and then to
