We also began to see Enterprise 2.0 make real penetration in business as well as social networking finally get some corporate respect and validation as a functional business tool that can bring tangible benefits to the workplace.

<clipSource>http://blogs.zdnet.com/Hinchcliffe/?p=155</clipSource>

50 Influential Bloggers

clipped by: kmullins
clipper's remarks: Here is the top tier of bloggers and influencers. In my opinion Business needs more than just Web 2.0 Social and Collaboration enhancements to feel the real impact of Enterprise 2.0.

Bernard Lunn wrote a post on Emergent Business Networks - The Real Enterprise 2.0 Story that points to the wave of online Emergent Business Networks as the next catalyst for Enterprise 2.0 and not Web 2.0.

I certainly agree.

Clip Source: www.readwriteweb.com

The coming wave of Online Emergent Business Networks is the real Enterprise 2.0 story. The impact on a large company from using Blogs, RSS and Wikis is not significant when the real guts of the business is locked into legacy ERP, SCM and CRM systems. These companies were built to deliver mass produced products for mass markets, whereas the coming wave is about personalization and customization. A couple of Blogs and Wikis won’t make that transformation happen!

Tags: enterprise 2.0, web 2.0

<clipSource>http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/emergent_business_networks.php</clipSource>

Real Enterprise 2.0

clipped by: kmullins

Clip Source: www.readwriteweb.com

The disruption was triggered by a massive restart of our users’ computers across the globe within a very short timeframe as they re-booted after receiving a routine set of patches through Windows Update.

The high number of restarts affected Skype’s network resources. This caused a flood of log-in requests, which, combined with the lack of peer-to-peer network resources, prompted a chain reaction that had a critical impact.

Normally Skype’s peer-to-peer network has an inbuilt ability to self-heal, however, this event revealed a previously unseen software bug within the network resource allocation algorithm which prevented the self-healing function from working quickly. Regrettably, as a result of this disruption, Skype was unavailable to the majority of its users for approximately two days.

Tags: skype

<clipSource>http://heartbeat.skype.com/2007/08/what_happened_on_august_16.html</clipSource>

Produkey

clipped by: kmullins
clipper's remarks: Here is a great little utility that I found referenced at the MikeTechShow.com, I tried it and it works like a charm.
