On Saturday, July 5, at 6:40 p.m. (that's 17:40 Zulu Time for you Tom Clancy fans), the season finale of Doctor Who will go out on BBC1 to an expected audience of 10 million viewers. The specially extended 65-minute episode ("Journey's End") should be one of the most watched shows of the year in the United Kingdom

American fans are in on the talk -- resorting to dastardly outlets like YouTube to watch these shows weeks before they premiere in the United States on The Sci-Fi Channel.

This is the last full season for Doctor Who executive producer and show runner, Russell T. Davies. After bringing the show back successfully and steering the ship for four years, Davies is handing control over to Who's best writer, Steven Moffat. To mark the transition in the show's directing force, the BBC is putting Doctor Who on a one-year hiatus. There will be four Who specials aired next year with Davies and Moffat working together, but there won't be a full season for the series again until 2010.

Hubble has captured a close-up of the remnant of a supernova that exploded in the Milky Way over 8000 years ago, and whose light reached Earth on 1 May 1006. The explosion is one of the brightest in recorded history and was visible with the naked eye

The delicate-looking remnant is actually part of a shock wave from the stellar explosion. The roiling remains are still expanding, moving at a clip of about 10 million kilometres per hour

Bright parts of the twisting ribbon are places where the shock wave from the explosion lies edge-on with our line of sight

The remains of the supernova are faint in visible light, but astronomers have produced stunning images in the X-ray part of the spectrum

Russert to Host "Meet the Lord"- RIP

(Washington) Ucs News -- Tim Russert, who became one of America's leading political journalists as the host of NBC's "Meet the Press," died Friday, the network said. He was 58. Friends and colleagues remembered Russert as a respected and influential journalist, but mourned the continued life of Bill O'Reilly.

The network said the award-winning journalist collapsed at work Friday. He was taken to Washington's Sibley Memorial Hospital, where he died, the hospital confirmed. The doctors treating Russert stated "We sure wish it was Bill O'Reilly who died in our hospital."

According to Brokaw, Russert had just returned from a family vacation in Italy with his wife, journalist Maureen Orth, and son, Luke.

"He will be missed as he was loved -- greatly and I just hope that Bill O'Reilly will be struck down in a similar fashion." Brokaw said Friday.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who introduced legislation last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, is now aiming higher.

On the House floor this evening, the Ohio Democrat proposed impeaching President Bush. In language similar to that in the articles of impeachment he raised against Cheney, Kucinich sought support for a 35-count indictment charging Bush with misleading Congress and the American people into war with tales of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Democratic House leaders have opposed impeaching Bush or Cheney as an unhelpful distraction. They were nearly embarrassed last year when Republicans voted to take up Kucinich's effort against Cheney in order to force a debate; they are unlikely to let the matter get so far this time

Bob Fertik, president of Democrats.com, one of the groups pushing for impeachment congratulated Kucinich on his "historic leadership

BUSH GETS LOWEST APPROVAL RATING YET

President Bush's approval rating has hit an new low, dropping to 25 percent in the most recent CBS News poll.

Bush now ranks 3rd all time in lowest approval rating, hovering above Richard Nixon's 24 percent in August 1974 and Harry Truman's 22 percent in February 1952. Bush's 67 percent disapproval rating, however, ranks slightly higher than both Nixon and Truman during their least popular rating.

The Iraq war continues to plague the president's popularity. Despite much touted "success" for the surge, 61 percent of respondents said Iraq will never be a stable democracy, up 8 percent since September. And 42 percent want troops out of Iraq within the year.

An overwhelming 83 percent of respondents said the country is on the wrong track.
